Layout & Equipment
The High Standard Plus category ranks among the best-equipped on site: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (shower/WC), a spacious living room with open kitchen, and a large veranda with seating. It also includes an external storage room with a washing machine and freezer. The cabin stands on a gentle rise with the best views in the campsite.

Marina & Boats
You launch directly from the campsite. Kværnø aluminium boats are the Norwegian standard for rough seas — stable, safe, with high sides and excellent wave handling. Available:

• Kværnø 630 — 20 ft, 80 HP, up to 6 people, Garmin ECHOMAP UHD 92sv.
• Kværnø 630 HT (hardtop) — 20 ft, 100 HP, up to 6 people, Garmin ECHOMAP UHD 92sv.
• Kværnø 630 HT Motorguide — 18 ft, 50 HP, 5 people, Striker Vivid 7cv.

All boats come equipped with echo sounder/GPS. Before your first trip you’ll get a short local briefing (areas, wind/tide logic, recommendations). The pier features outdoor and covered filleting stations (running water, lighting, rinse), so from landing a fish to cleaning it it’s just a few steps — quick and tidy.

Safety: always wear a PFD/vest, check the forecast, and keep alcohol ashore. For popular dates we recommend booking your boat in advance.

Sea Fishing
Within 30–40 minutes by boat from Bud (≈ 10 km offshore) you reach open sea with a chain of underwater banks and edges. This is where schools of coalfish/saithe, Atlantic cod and larger pollack hold — fast, honest Norwegian structure fishing where currents meet bait.

Klakken — the navigation buoys
The best-known target within range. Around the buoys and adjacent breaks you regularly meet saithe/pollack and solid cod; on the deeper drops you’ll find ling (with potential over 30 kg) and tusk. On the shallower banks, even monkfish/anglerfish can surprise.

Halibut
Present in the area, but it calls for the right tactics and lures (drift control, reading sand/mixed bottoms, choosing the right soft baits and jigs). We’ll help with spots and tackle — recommendations and ready setups are available.

When Atlantic weather toughens up
Even in rougher conditions you can fish right in front of the campsite or in the lee of/behind Aukra island. Jigs/pilkers, spinning with soft plastics, and natural baits (piece or whole fish) all work, depending on the situation and regulations.

Safety & Respect
The Hustadvika coastline is among Norway’s most respected — and most interesting — sea-fishing areas. Always plan for rapid weather shifts: wear a PFD/vest, check forecasts, plan runs sensibly, and communicate with the campsite staff.

Location & Facilities

Bud sits at the gateway to the National Tourist Route to the Atlantic Road (Atlanterhavsveien). The campsite is right on the water with views of islets and calm inlets — a perfect base for coastal walks and time on the sea.

Within 30–40 minutes

• the iconic Atlantic Road (bridges, viewpoints, short coastal walks),
• the fishing harbour town of Bud (pier, promenade, great for evening photos),
• low skerries and shallow bays with ocean views — ideal for sunsets and quick stop-over trips.

On the Water & Back

Sheltered inlets nearby make departures and returns safe even in rougher weather. The open sea is within sight — in season you’ll meet shoals of coalfish/saithe, Atlantic cod and pollack along the edges of the underwater banks.
