SAF PLASTI-X BRAVO 15 cm – Motor Mary UV is a hand-poured and laminated soft lure that we make piece by piece here in-house. This is not just another generic mass-produced lure built only around a loud colour. This version stands on a combination of a more natural-looking darker back, an orange glitter belly, UV activity and the proven BRAVO profile that works in the water in a clean, stable and convincing way.

The Motor Mary UV colour belongs to those classics that make sense when you do not want to offer fish either a completely subtle natural imitation or an overly loud fluo option. That is exactly where its strength lies. The darker back keeps a more natural silhouette, while the orange belly adds liveliness, contrast and better visibility. In the water, this lure looks believable, yet still has enough character to avoid getting lost.

An important detail is the belly itself. Whenever you can see glitter in it, that lower part is also partially transparent. It may not always look extremely obvious in a product photo, but against the light and especially in the water, the effect is there. Light passes partly through the belly, the darker UV back subtly shines through it, and the result is an interesting shifting effect that gives the lure more depth and a livelier expression than a standard opaque mass-produced bait.

We also add a UV activator into the material, so this is not just a nicely arranged colour combination. Motor Mary UV is built for situations where you want to keep a more natural overall look, while still getting a bit more readability out of the lure. That is exactly why it makes excellent sense in poorer light, at dusk, in slightly stained water, in greater depth or anywhere a purely natural colour starts to become too weak, while straight fluo would be unnecessarily aggressive.

The BRAVO 15 cm model is highly usable for targeting bigger predators that want a more visible and bulkier meal. It makes excellent sense especially for zander, pike and catfish, but it also performs very well in saltwater fishing in Norway. The combination of a 15 cm size, clearly readable action and a versatile natural UV colour makes it a lure that can work across a wide range of situations – from more active fishing to moments when fish need a calmer and more believable presentation.

SAF PLASTI-X also has very strong use in saltwater fishing. And this is exactly where colours like Motor Mary UV make outstanding sense. Based on our own experience and customer feedback, more naturally tuned UV colours like this work very well in Norway during active spinning, retrieving through the water column and fishing around the boat. For cod, coalfish, pollack and other saltwater predators, this is exactly the type of lure that does not look stupidly overdone, yet still has enough strength for fish to notice it in the water.

And now the most important thing: eyes make the lure. That is exactly why we do not use cheap anonymous eyes with no expression on SAF PLASTI-X. We rig them with high-quality Sybai 3D eyes that have a significantly more robust resin layer than common cheap alternatives. As a result, they not only look better, but also give the lure a stronger and cleaner overall expression that really matters in the water.

The way the eye is seated also makes a big difference. We glue the eyes with gel super glue, not with thin liquid glue that tends to run, create a messy bond or leave an ugly air gap under the eye. The gel seats the eye properly, fills the space and helps create a clean, full and visually strong detail.

The same level of care goes into the final finishing of every lure. When we cut the lures off the plastisol, every cut point is hand-sealed so the whole area flows together cleanly and the final result looks neat, consistent and professional. It is a small detail that many mass-produced baits do not deal with at all, but the difference is visible on the finished lure.

SAF PLASTI-X is not something created behind a desk. These handmade soft lures are made from materials we know, use and sell ourselves. This is not an anonymous mass-produced bait, but our own product built on experience, real production and on what we genuinely want to fish with ourselves, without compromise.
