SAF PLASTI-X CHARLIE 15 cm – Glitter Orange UV is a hand-poured and laminated soft bait that we make piece by piece here in the Czech Republic. This is not just another mass-produced “realistic” lure built mainly around surface printing. It stands on something that is often missing on today’s market – a transparent body, a bold colour concept, strong UV activity and a detail that makes a real difference underwater.

Modern lure fishing is full of realistic patterns, laser-style prints and complex colour imitations. The problem is that many of these lures lose one major advantage on the way – transparency and the way light works inside the material. With Glitter Orange UV, we went in the opposite direction. The transparent laminated body lets colour, glitter and light work more naturally, with more depth, more life and a much cleaner visual signal in the water.

We also add a UV activator directly into the material, so this is not just a bright orange soft bait. It is made for moments when you want to send a strong visual signal – in stained water, low light, twilight conditions or anytime subtle “safe” colours simply disappear too easily.

The CHARLIE 15 cm profile makes perfect sense for predators that are happy to eat a bigger meal – zander, pike, catfish and other aggressive fish. This is exactly where lure size, a bold colour concept and a transparent body come together in a combination that stands out when ordinary soft baits just pass through the water without any real presence.

SAF PLASTI-X also makes a lot of sense for saltwater fishing. And this is where the whole concept fits SAF extremely well. Based on our own experience and customer feedback, these soft baits perform very well in Norway, where the strength of a transparent body, UV activity and a pronounced eye detail becomes obvious compared to ordinary commercial soft plastics. Quite a few anglers first bought the finished lures from us, took them north into real boat fishing conditions, and only later came back for soft bait making gear and molds because they wanted to keep bringing the SAF PLASTI-X concept back on board again and again. For cod, coalfish, pollock and other saltwater predators, this is exactly the kind of lure that does not get lost in the crowd of generic opaque imitations.

And now the key point: eyes make the lure. That is why we do not use cheap anonymous eyes with no real value behind them. We fit our baits with high-quality Sybai 3D eyes made in the Czech Republic, with a much stronger resin dome than the usual low-cost generic alternatives. The result is not just a better look on the table, but a cleaner, stronger and much more convincing visual expression in the water.

The way the eye is mounted matters a lot as well. We use a gel-type cyanoacrylate glue, not thin liquid glue that tends to run away, create a messy bond or leave an ugly air gap under the eye. The gel seats the eye properly, fills the space and helps create a clean, full and visually powerful detail. And in practice, that detail matters far more than many anglers realise.

SAF PLASTI-X is not a lure invented at a desk. These handmade soft baits are made from materials that we know, use and sell ourselves. This is not anonymous serial production, but our own lure concept built on real workshop experience and on what we actually want to fish with ourselves.
