Product detailed description

Guideline NT11 Double Hand 6-PC Fly Rod is a premium six-piece double-hand fly rod for salmon, sea trout and steelhead anglers who want top-level performance in a travel-friendly format. The NT11 6-PC series is built for modern Scandi, Spey and shooting head fishing, where low swing weight, line speed, stability and easy transport all matter.

The important point is that this is not a compromised travel rod. Guideline designed the NT11 6-PC around state-of-the-art graphite materials to keep the blank light, strong, crisp and responsive despite the six-piece construction. This makes the rod highly practical for travelling to Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Canada or steelhead rivers, while still giving the feeling and performance expected from a premium salmon rod.

The blank uses T1100 CAP technology, combining ultra-elastic 46T Low Resin Material with T1100 graphite layers and Guideline’s CAP cross-construction structure. The result is a very strong and light blank with fast recovery, high compression strength and excellent tracking control. High-strength TORAYCA NANOALLOY® resin further improves toughness and durability under repeated casting and fish-fighting stress.

The action is described as Full / Mid Flex with Fast Recovery. In practice, the rod loads deeper and feels easy to operate, but when pushed harder it generates more power, higher line speed and strong lifting ability for sinking lines. The tips are stable but sensitive, so the rod feels lively without forcing the angler into a perfectly timed casting stroke on every cast.

The NT11 6-PC range covers everything from lighter summer and low-water fishing to large-river salmon work. The shorter and lighter models are excellent for sea trout, steelhead, smaller salmon rivers and stealthier presentations, while the stronger #9/10 and #10/11 models are built for heavy heads, sinking tips, bulky flies, deep wading and demanding salmon conditions.

Size Length Line weight Pieces Rec. head weight Best use
12'3" #6/7 12'3" #6/7 6 25–27 g / 385–416 grains light steelhead, sea trout, small rivers
12'9" #7/8 12'9" #7/8 6 28–31 g / 430–480 grains small to medium rivers, summer fishing
12'9" #8/9 12'9" #8/9 6 32–35 g / 490–540 grains compact salmon setup, larger flies
13'9" #8/9 13'9" #8/9 6 32–35 g / 490–540 grains all-round salmon fishing, longer heads
13'9" #9/10 13'9" #9/10 6 37–41 g / 570–635 grains main salmon model, tough conditions
14'9" #9/10 14'9" #9/10 6 37–41 g / 570–635 grains larger rivers, longer drifts, deeper water
14'9" #10/11 14'9" #10/11 6 43–47 g / 660–720 grains big rivers, big flies, heavy sinking lines

The 12'3" #6/7 is the lightest and stealthiest model, ideal for sea trout, steelhead, smaller salmon rivers and low-water fishing. The 12'9" #7/8 is a very enjoyable rod for small to medium rivers and long summer days, but still has enough depth to work with sinking systems when needed.

The 12'9" #8/9 and 13'9" #8/9 are extremely useful salmon sizes. They cover compact shooting heads, Classic Scandi bodies and a wide range of tips depending on river size, bank space and casting style. The longer 13'9" model adds more control and stability when slightly longer heads are preferred.

The 13'9" #9/10 is the core all-round salmon model in the range. It handles heavy sinking lines, wind, bigger flies, tight banks, deep wading and strong fish with confidence. The 14'9" #9/10 adds length and tracking stability for larger rivers, while the 14'9" #10/11 is the strongest model for big water, big fish and heavy early-season line systems.

NT11 Double Hand 6-PC rods are equipped with FLOR-grade cork, powder cork reinforcement on rear grips and fighting butts, lightweight titanium-framed stripping guides, high-quality stainless steel single-leg running guides with titanium coating and custom hard-anodized reel seats. The blanks have a matte satin deep carbon-grey finish with subtle blue trim wraps, and each rod is delivered with a light, strong rod bag and polycarbonate rod tube.

Frequently Asked Questions – Guideline NT11 Double Hand 6-PC Fly Rod

Why choose a 6-piece double-hand fly rod?

The main advantage is transport. A 6-piece rod is much easier to pack for car travel, flights and international salmon trips. With the NT11 6-PC series, Guideline keeps the travel format while maintaining premium blank performance, low swing weight and fast recovery.

Which Guideline NT11 Double Hand 6-PC size should I choose?

Choose 12'3" #6/7 or 12'9" #7/8 for lighter sea trout, steelhead and smaller salmon rivers. Choose 12'9" #8/9 or 13'9" #8/9 for versatile salmon fishing. Choose 13'9" #9/10, 14'9" #9/10 or 14'9" #10/11 for bigger rivers, heavier lines and more demanding conditions.

Is the NT11 6-PC only a travel rod?

No. The 6-piece construction makes the rod very convenient for travelling, but the NT11 6-PC is built as a full-performance premium double-hand rod. It is suitable as a main salmon rod, not only as a backup travel setup.

What action does the NT11 Double Hand 6-PC have?

The rod has a Full / Mid Flex action with Fast Recovery. It loads deeper than many very fast rods, but the blank recovers quickly and generates strong line speed, which makes it suitable for a wide range of casts, lines and fishing styles.

Which lines work best with NT11 Double Hand 6-PC rods?

The lighter and shorter models work very well with compact shooting heads and multi-tip systems. The stronger #9/10 and #10/11 models are excellent with Classic Scandi bodies, 3D+ heads, 4D systems, sinking tips and heavier salmon line setups.

Is the NT11 6-PC suitable for Norway or Sweden salmon fishing?

Yes. The travel-friendly 6-piece format, strong blank construction and broad size range make it a very practical choice for salmon trips to Norway, Sweden and other destinations where transport length, reliability and high performance are important.
