Product detailed description

Guideline NT11 Fast Full Flex 6-PC Fly Rod is a premium six-piece double-hand fly rod for salmon, sea trout and steelhead anglers who want a deeper, more connected rod action without losing speed, power or precision. This model is part of the NT11 family, but its character is different from the standard NT11 Double Hand 6-PC. It is built for anglers who enjoy feeling the rod load deep into the butt section, while still getting the crisp kick and fast recovery expected from Guideline’s highest-end graphite technology.

The key concept is Fast Full Flex. The rod bends deeper through the blank and gives the caster more time to set up the stroke, anchor and forward delivery. At the same time, the blank is not soft or slow. The kick comes slightly later, but when the rod unloads it produces very high line speed, strong turnover and a powerful, clean release. This makes the series especially interesting for Spey anglers who like a more classic deep-flex feeling, but do not want to give up modern recovery speed and technical performance.

The blank uses T1100 CAP technology, combining ultra-elastic 46T Low Resin Material, T1100 graphite layers and Guideline’s CAP cross-construction structure. This creates a very strong, light and responsive blank with excellent compression strength, fast recovery and high durability. High-strength TORAYCA NANOALLOY® resin further improves toughness and helps protect the blank against fatigue, shock and repeated high-load casting.

Compared with the standard NT11 Double Hand 6-PC, the Fast Full Flex version has a deeper rod curve and a noticeably stable tip section. This gives the rod excellent lifting power when fishing longer Spey lines, Classic Scandi bodies, heavier sinking heads or multi-density systems. The deeper blank also helps absorb aggressive head shakes and can protect thinner leaders better during hard fights with salmon, sea trout or steelhead.

Size choice depends mainly on river size, line system and target fish. The 12' #7/8 is the lightest model for sea trout, steelhead, smaller salmon rivers and low-water situations. The 13' #8/9 is the most versatile all-round model for many salmon anglers. The 14' #9/10 adds more reach, lifting power and control with heavier sinking systems. The 15' #10/11 is the strongest model for large rivers, heavy heads, deep water and serious early-season salmon fishing.

Size Length Line weight Pieces Rec. head weight Best use
12' #7/8 12' / 366 cm #7/8 6 26–32 g / 401–494 grains sea trout, steelhead, smaller rivers, low water
13' #8/9 13' / 396 cm #8/9 6 32–39 g / 490–600 grains all-round salmon, big trout, steelhead
14' #9/10 14' / 427 cm #9/10 6 36–43 g / 550–660 grains larger rivers, sinking heads, strong salmon setup
15' #10/11 15' / 457 cm #10/11 6 43–50+ g / 660–770+ grains big rivers, heavy sinking lines, early-season salmon

The 12' #7/8 is the lightest and most delicate model in the range. It suits sea trout, steelhead, smaller salmon rivers and low-water fishing, where presentation, leader protection and a relaxed casting rhythm matter. Its full-flexing action makes Spey casting smooth and forgiving, even when timing is not perfect.

The 13' #8/9 is the most universal model for many anglers. It covers a wide range of salmon, big trout and steelhead fishing and works well with compact heads, Classic Scandi bodies and longer Spey lines. It is a strong choice if you want one NT11 Fast Full Flex rod for most medium river situations.

The 14' #9/10 brings more reach, stronger lifting power and better control with heavier sinking heads. It still has the relaxed deep-flex feel of the series, but the stable tip section helps lift dense lines from the water and keeps the cast efficient in more demanding conditions.

The 15' #10/11 is the power model for large rivers, heavy sinking systems, bigger flies and strong salmon. It is ideal for anglers who enjoy longer Spey lines, Classic Scandi bodies with heavier tips and a full-flexing rod that can still produce serious distance and power when needed.

NT11 Fast Full Flex 6-PC rods are equipped with FLOR-grade cork, powder cork reinforcement on rear grips and fighting butts, lightweight titanium-framed stripping guides, high-quality stainless steel single-leg running guides with titanium coating and custom hard-anodized reel seats with copper details. The blanks have a matte satin deep carbon-grey finish with subtle burgundy trims, and each rod is supplied with a strong rod bag and a light polycarbonate tube with polyester fabric cover.

Frequently Asked Questions – Guideline NT11 Fast Full Flex 6-PC Fly Rod

What does Fast Full Flex mean?

Fast Full Flex means the rod loads deep through the blank, almost into the handle, but still recovers very quickly. It gives the caster more time to set up the cast, while the T1100 blank still produces high line speed and strong turnover.

How is NT11 Fast Full Flex different from the standard NT11 Double Hand 6-PC?

The Fast Full Flex version has a deeper rod curve and a more classic full-flex feel, while the tip section remains stable and powerful. The standard NT11 Double Hand 6-PC feels more direct and modern; Fast Full Flex gives more bottom flex, timing tolerance and a smoother Spey rhythm.

Which NT11 Fast Full Flex size should I choose?

Choose 12' #7/8 for sea trout, steelhead, smaller salmon rivers and low water. Choose 13' #8/9 for the most versatile all-round salmon setup. Choose 14' #9/10 for larger rivers and heavier sinking heads. Choose 15' #10/11 for big water, heavy tips, larger flies and early-season salmon fishing.

Is this rod suitable for longer Spey lines?

Yes. The deep full-flexing action and stable tip section make the NT11 Fast Full Flex especially suitable for longer Spey lines, Classic Scandi bodies, heavier tips and casts where controlled line lift is important.

Is the rod slow because it bends deeply?

No. The rod bends deeply, but the T1100 CAP blank recovers very quickly. The feeling is smooth and relaxed during loading, but crisp and powerful when the rod unloads.

Why choose a 6-piece version?

The 6-piece construction makes the rod much easier to transport for travel, flights and destination salmon fishing. At the same time, the NT11 Fast Full Flex remains a high-performance premium rod, not just a backup travel rod.
