SAF PLASTI-X MAHI 15cm – Chartreuse UV is a hand-poured and carefully finished soft bait that we produce piece by piece here in-house. This version stands on a bold chartreuse UV colour, the slim hybrid MAHI profile, and an overall presentation that stays highly visible in the water from the very first retrieve.

The strength of Chartreuse UV is clear: it gives the bait extra visibility, stronger contrast, and a more direct visual signal. It works especially well in lower light, overcast conditions, greater depth, or anytime you need to cover water more efficiently with a colour that is easy for fish to notice.

Within the SAF PLASTI-X concept, the MAHI 15cm represents a hybrid soft bait profile with a slimmer, livelier, and more natural movement than bulkier classic shads. It offers a subtler action while still keeping enough presence in the water, which makes this combination of shape and colour a very effective working bait.

Chartreuse UV has very strong logic in sea fishing. Bright fluo colours have earned their place in saltwater a long time ago, and with the MAHI profile this setup works very well in practice. The bait stays easy to read in the water column, during active spinning, and when covering water around the boat. For cod, coalfish, pollock, and other saltwater predators, this is a colour that can attract attention quickly without looking overly aggressive.

This version also makes a lot of sense in freshwater, especially as a zander bait. The slimmer MAHI profile, lively but controlled movement, and strong chartreuse UV visibility create a very interesting option for situations where you want to present zander with a clearly visible bait while still keeping a relatively subtle overall shape. This is not primarily a typical pike lure. The profile and colour combination fit the role of a serious zander soft bait much better, and in this form it does not have a very common equivalent on the market.

Another important part of the MAHI concept is the overall finish of each bait. We rig these lures with quality 12 mm Sybai 3D eyes, which have a stronger resin layer and help give the bait a cleaner and more distinctive final look. The eyes are attached with gel super glue, which seats them precisely and avoids messy bonds or unattractive gaps underneath.

We put the same level of care into the final finishing of every bait. After trimming the lure from the plastisol, each cut point is hand-sealed so the final result looks clean, consistent, and professional. These details may seem small, but they make a visible difference on the finished bait.
