BKK hooks Raptor-X 1/0 (6pack)

Product detailed description

BKK Raptor-X 1/0 (6 pcs) is a replacement treble for lures that need stronger hardware without an unnecessarily heavy hook. It uses slimmer wire than the Raptor-Z, although the balance of each particular lure still needs checking after a change.

Raptor-X retains the basic gap-to-shank proportions of the Raptor-Z, with a slightly straighter point and slimmer wire profile. Hand Ground processing removes material around the point by hand. The 3X designation describes the wire class, not the breaking strain of a complete rig in kilograms.

For size 1/0, compare clearance beneath the lure, spacing between attachment eyes and the split rings you intend to use. Front and rear hooks must not catch each other. Changing hook weight can affect sinking, position during pauses and topwater action.

Use suitable split-ring pliers and test the lure in the water after rigging. Rinse with fresh water after sea fishing and let the hooks dry; a tin finish does not make them completely corrosion-proof. Inspect points after contact with rocks and replace damaged hooks.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

How many trebles are in this pack?

This pack contains 6 BKK Raptor-X hooks in size 1/0.

How does it differ from Raptor-Z?

Raptor-X follows its shape but uses slimmer 3X wire and a lighter construction. Compare hardware and test the action of the actual lure.

Is it suitable for saltwater?

Yes. Bright Tin improves corrosion resistance, but the hooks should still be rinsed and dried after use.

Does the hook size specify rig strength?

No. Hook size and wire class do not specify the strength of a complete rig; leaders, rings, connections and hook condition also matter.
