BKK Raptor-Z 2/0 is a very practical size in the Raptor-Z heavy-duty treble hook range for anglers who want stronger lure hardware but do not need to step up to larger sizes such as 3/0, 4/0 or 5/0. The 2/0 size fits pilkers, saltwater wobblers, plugs, smaller to medium poppers, stickbaits, soft lures and stinger rigs where strength, sharpness and reasonable hook weight all matter.

Compared to larger sizes, BKK Raptor-Z 2/0 is more compact and more friendly to the lure action. This is important especially on wobblers, plugs, smaller saltwater lures and poppers, where a treble hook that is too heavy can change the balance, buoyancy or pause position of the lure. Raptor-Z 2/0 makes sense when the standard factory treble does not feel strong enough, but you still do not want to overload the lure with a hook that is too large.

In sea fishing, the 2/0 size is very useful on pilkers, smaller to medium halibut jigs, saltwater soft lures, hard lures and stinger systems. In Norwegian fishing, it works well on lures for cod, pollack, coalfish, ling and, depending on lure size, lighter halibut situations. It is not an extremely large treble hook, but it still brings the heavy-duty character needed for more demanding conditions.

A very practical use for BKK Raptor-Z 2/0 is building stinger rigs for larger soft lures. On big paddle tails, halibut jigs and saltwater soft lures around 300–450 g, the main hook is often positioned in the front part of the lure, while an additional securing treble can be placed into the belly or rear working section of the body. This is exactly where the 2/0 size makes strong sense – it is powerful enough for demanding saltwater fishing, but not as bulky as 3/0, 4/0 or 5/0.

For this type of stinger system, you can use a strong assist cord in a suitable breaking strength, for example around 100 lb or 140 lb depending on lure size, target fish and the strength of the whole setup. The treble hook is tied onto a short stinger that supports the main hook and helps cover bites into the body, belly or rear part of the soft lure. The advantage is that the lure keeps its natural movement, while the terminal setup becomes much more reliable when a bigger fish hits.

Raptor-Z is built around strength, fast point penetration and secure holding power. The 2/0 size is interesting because it already offers a much stronger character than smaller freshwater trebles, while still being usable across a wide range of lures. On pilkers and stinger rigs, strength, hook position and holding power under pressure are the key points. On wobblers, plugs, poppers and stickbaits, you need to make sure the hook does not damage the lure action, stability or natural movement in the water.

BKK Raptor-Z 2/0 can also make sense in freshwater fishing when targeting catfish, big pike, musky or other strong predators and you need more reliable lure hardware than a standard factory treble. With powerful freshwater fish, the hook is often not a small detail, but one of the most important parts of the entire setup.
