Product detailed description
Grippa 500g Concrete Fishing Sinker Mould | SAF Concrete Series is designed for repeated casting of very heavy concrete fishing sinkers, with an emphasis on consistent shape, stability during casting and use in demanding fishing conditions. The mould is 3D printed from PETG and designed for a concrete mix with a density of 2300 kg/m³.
2 casting cavities = efficient production of extra-heavy sinkers
The 500g version has two casting cavities. This layout keeps the mould robust and manageable while allowing you to cast two sinkers in one pour.
Grippa 500g: an anchoring option for boat placement, strong currents and demanding conditions
This weight is intended primarily for rigs placed by boat rather than routine casting. It is suited to situations where you need to hold the rig firmly in place: when placing rigs by boat, in strong currents, on sloping bottoms, bars, drop-offs and other difficult areas where lighter sinkers may shift or roll.
Why the Grippa shape helps in demanding conditions
The Grippa shape is designed to help the sinker stay in place on uneven ground and when the current puts pressure on the rig. The raised studs improve contact with the bottom, while the flatter profile helps the sinker sit steadily. Together, these features help reduce unwanted movement and rolling when the sinker is used appropriately.
Robust construction for consistent castings
The reinforced mould body helps maintain its shape during normal clamping and filling. This supports consistent dimensions and a well-defined shape in the finished concrete sinkers.
Corner holes = flexible fastening options
The corner holes allow the halves to be fastened together with bolts, for example using wing nuts or star knobs. Suitable clamps can also be used. Correct fastening helps the mould retain its shape and produce clean castings.
Spring insert or 1 mm stainless steel wire: attachment options
The mould is compatible with a size 1 stainless steel spring insert, placed inside before pouring. Once the concrete has cured, the insert provides a secure attachment point in the sinker. A suitably shaped piece of stainless steel wire with a diameter of 1 mm can be used as an alternative where appropriate.
Before pouring the mix
Apply a thin release layer to the inside of the mould to make removal easier. Options include a light film of vegetable oil or a spray oil, such as a WD-40 type product. Use only a thin layer to preserve the surface detail of the casting.
A note on the 500g weight
The stated 500g weight is based on a concrete mix with a density of 2300 kg/m³. It refers to the intended weight of one cast concrete sinker, not the weight of the mould or the combined weight of both castings. You are purchasing the mould, not finished concrete sinkers. The final weight may vary slightly with the mix recipe, water content, compaction and curing process. We recommend checking the weight with a test casting.
The SAF Concrete Series mould gives anglers control over their own heavy concrete sinker production, from the choice of mix to the final colour and finish. The 500g version is intended for situations that call for strong anchoring and a stable rig. We can also make this mould for a different casting weight on request.
