Your Mold Stainless Wire for Clips and Loops – 5m

Product detailed description
Your Mold stainless steel wire, 5 m long, is material for shaping custom Cheburashka clips and cast-in loops. Choose an available diameter and form a component suited to the particular product. It is useful where a ready-made part is unavailable or where you need to test a custom dimension. This is raw material: a finished connection exists only after shaping and checking it in the appropriate casting or mold recess.
Diameter, length and shape address different parts of compatibility. Thin wire may pass through a hole, but a clip that is too short will not lock; a differently bent end may restrict hook movement. Use suitable measuring equipment and wire-shaping pliers for more consistent results. Choose cutters for the wire material and diameter; pliers intended for lead sprues may not be suitable for stainless steel wire.
For custom Cheburashka clips in the BL1 system, SAF specifies 0.5–0.6 mm wire; the wider BL2 system uses 1.0–1.2 mm. Diameter does not replace testing the finished clip. In particular, fish-head Cheburashka F183 has two passage sizes and different casting lengths. Ready-made B is confirmed for 11/13 g; the other cavities require a custom connector. Its wider strip does not automatically confirm C.
A custom Cheburashka clip is assembled after casting. The steel strip forms the passage, is withdrawn after solidification and leaves room for a clip and hook in the finished, cool weight. A custom cast-in loop follows another procedure: it must fit its recess before pouring and remains in the head. Do not confuse those roles even when using the same kind of starting material.
Where a ready-made clip is confirmed for the cavity, compare custom shaping with A, B and C among the alternative products. Ready-made types are alternatives to shaping, not universal fittings. A/B use 0.6 mm wire and C uses 1.2 mm, but dimensions and applications also differ. Before making a batch, assemble one finished casting and check passage fit, locking and hook movement. Neither lead weight nor wire diameter alone specifies complete rig strength.
Wire selection and checking a custom component
| Application | Material selection | Further checks |
|---|---|---|
| Supplied wire length | 5 m | Diameter according to available option |
| Diameter range in the series | 0.5–1.6 mm | Select the actual available diameter |
| Custom clip for BL1 | 0.5–0.6 mm per SAF | Passage length, arms and closure |
| Custom clip for BL2 | 1.0–1.2 mm per SAF | Individual casting length and shape |
| Custom cast-in loop | According to the mold and fit test | Exact seating and full mold closure |
| Ready-made A / B / C | Separate products | Compatibility by model and cavity |
The table identifies material for custom work, not approval of a finished component. Test every new shape in the complete assembly. Do not transfer clip length to another cavity merely because its weight is similar.
From wire to a checked connecting component
- Identify the mold, cavity and component role: a removable clip for a finished Cheburashka, or a loop to be cast in.
- Choose the appropriate available diameter and prepare pliers and measuring tools. Cut a test length with cutters suitable for stainless wire.
- Shape the first piece for the required passage or mold recess, checking arm length and locking shape as well as diameter.
- Test a clip in a finished, cool casting with the chosen hook; first check a cast-in loop by closing the dry mold around it.
- Check locking, seating and complete rig movement before producing further pieces from the tested first example.
Store wire and shaped components clearly separated by diameter and purpose. Do not use a damaged or repeatedly deformed clip as the pattern for another batch. Select the ready-made alternatives only for their confirmed cavities.
Safety while shaping and casting
- Use eye protection and tools suitable for the material and wire diameter when cutting and shaping.
- Take care with sharp wire ends and hook points; keep test connections directed away from your hands and face.
- For subsequent casting, the mold, inserted parts and tools must be completely dry. Follow the metal and melting equipment instructions.
- Do not eat, drink or smoke while working with lead. Provide effective ventilation and wash your hands afterwards.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Is matching a ready-made clip’s wire diameter enough?
No. You also need the correct length, arm shape and secure closure in the individual casting. Test the complete connection with a suitable hook first.
When is custom shaping particularly useful?
For example, in F183 cavities without a confirmed ready-made clip. Select material for the passage and test the shape in the completed Cheburashka.
Can I use the same clip in two molds of the same weight?
Not automatically. F173 and F179 share 30 g but use different passage systems and B/C clips. Similar weight does not identify the same connector.
How does a custom loop differ from a Cheburashka clip?
A cast-in loop stays in the weight and is fitted before pouring. A removable clip is inserted into a completed Cheburashka after a casting strip has formed its passage.
Why test one piece before making a whole batch?
It lets you check actual passage fit, length, closure and hook movement. Repeating an untested shape simply produces more of the same unsuitable component.
