SAF size 1 universal stainless steel loops are cast-in attachment eyes commissioned by SAF for making fishing weights. The current version uses 1.3 mm stainless steel wire. The embedded section anchors in the weight material while the outer eye remains accessible for attaching the rig.
These loops fit molds specified for size 1 loops. Use them for the corresponding sinkers and other castings with a size 1 eye. Sizes 01, 05, 2 and 3 are different components. A fixed loop also serves a different purpose from a rotating swivel or a removable Cheburashka clip.
The universal loop is the intended insert for our CNC-machined Smart Arctic Fox aluminum molds: SAF Carp Long Cast, Carp Horizont, Grippa Carp Star and SAF Grippa Carp Extra. Each mold and weight remains a separate product; using the same loop does not alter the casting shape or weight.
It also fits SAF Concrete Series molds for concrete fishing weights, including the Grippa 120 g concrete weight mold. Position it before filling the mold; it remains anchored after curing. Follow the filling, curing and demolding instructions for the specific concrete mold.
The SAF universal loop and the original Your Mold loop are separate products. Confirmed SAF compatibility applies to molds specified for size 1 loops. Before casting, check the orientation, seating in the recess and complete closure of both mold halves without force.
Packs of 100 or 1,000 pieces contain the same loop design. Choose the quantity to suit your production. The number of loops per casting depends on the attachment points of the particular design, rather than simply the number of mold cavities.
From loop to finished weight
- Choose a mold specified for size 1 loops, position the insert and check that the mold closes without moving it.
- For lead casting, ensure the mold, loop and tools are completely dry and follow the mold and melting equipment instructions.
- For concrete, position the loop before adding the mix and follow the curing and demolding procedure.
- After the metal has cooled safely or the concrete has cured, inspect the anchorage and the open eye.
Check the anchorage and clear opening on the first completed casting. Paint or remaining mix must not obstruct the attachment point. When assembling the rig, match the eye dimensions to the snap or other connection. Inspect the assembly again after damage or a heavy impact.
Wire diameter alone does not define the strength of the complete rig. Loop shape, anchorage, casting material and connecting components also matter. Discounts and other promotions do not apply to this product.
Safe manufacturing
- Never pour molten metal into a damp mold. The loop and all tools must also be dry.
- When casting metal, use safety glasses, suitable gloves, a stable heat-resistant surface and effective ventilation.
- Use a concrete mold only with its intended mix. A shared loop does not make it suitable for molten metal.
- Follow the material instructions. Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling lead; wash your hands afterwards.
