Product detailed description

Guideline Elevation DH Fly Rod is a light, smooth and versatile double-hand fly rod series for salmon and sea trout fishing. The Elevation DH range is designed for anglers at different levels, combining easy loading, good line feel and enough power for modern Scandi heads, shooting heads and multi-density sinking systems.

The rod action is built around a mid-flex / medium-fast profile with a sensitive, stable tip and a smooth progressive curve deeper into the blank. This gives the rod an easy and forgiving casting feel, while the powerful lower section adds reserve when you need line speed, longer casts or better control in wind, current and heavier water.

Guideline has also used Elevation as an important step in more sustainable rod production. The blanks have a matte, lightly buffed graphite-grey finish without extra colouring, the grips use 3A cork without rubber cork reinforcement, the reel seat components are clear anodized, and the rod bag and tube cover are made from recycled REPREVE™ polyester. The tube itself is made from recyclable polypropylene rather than standard PVC.

The shorter 12' #7/8 and 13' #8/9 models are especially interesting for small to medium salmon and sea trout rivers. They are light, responsive and well suited to Scandi-style casting and shooting heads. The longer 14' #9/10 and 15' #10/11 models add more power for bigger rivers, larger flies, wind, Skagit heads and heavier multi-density sinking systems.

Elevation DH rods are supplied as 4-piece rods with a rod bag and tube concept based on more environmentally responsible materials. The series is a strong choice for anglers who want a light, modern and forgiving double-hand rod with a cleaner production philosophy.

Frequently Asked Questions – Guideline Elevation DH Fly Rod

Which Guideline Elevation DH size should I choose?

Choose 12' #7/8 or 13' #8/9 for small to medium salmon and sea trout rivers, lighter Scandi heads and controlled presentations. Choose 14' #9/10 or 15' #10/11 for larger rivers, heavier heads, bigger flies and more demanding sinking line work.

Is Elevation DH suitable for anglers starting with double-hand casting?

Yes. The rod has an easy-loading mid-flex / medium-fast action with good line feel, which makes it suitable for anglers improving their double-hand casting while still offering enough performance for experienced salmon anglers.

What casting styles is Elevation DH made for?

Elevation DH works well with Scandi-style casts, underhand casting, shooting heads, multi-tip systems and sinking heads. The shorter models are lighter and more presentation-oriented, while the longer models add more power for bigger rivers and heavier line systems.

What makes the Elevation series more sustainable?

Guideline uses reduced-impact components such as matte uncoloured blanks, clear anodized reel seat parts, bio-based low-toxic epoxy, recycled REPREVE™ polyester for the rod bag and tube cover, and recyclable polypropylene rod tubes.

What is the difference between the shorter and longer Elevation DH models?

The 12' #7/8 and 13' #8/9 models are very light and responsive for smaller to medium rivers. The 14' #9/10 and 15' #10/11 models have more power in the tip and lower blank, making them better for larger flies, wind, Skagit heads and heavy multi-density sinking lines.
