Lead mold steel insert
Code: YM/7801Related products
Product detailed description
The 7801 tapered guide is a reusable steel casting tool. It forms a tapered channel during pouring and is removed after the lead solidifies. A matching flexible insert is fitted when assembling the finished lead.
The verified group comprises F80 inline fishing lead mold (75/90/110 g), F182 (130/150 g) and F181 (165/185 g). Their specifications describe a 3/5 mm tapered system. This denotes the channel profile, rather than a universal straight tube of 3 or 5 mm diameter.
F80 lists a guide as part of the mold package. Order a separate piece as a replacement or spare when required. Check the actual contents and original seating for other molds.
Do not confuse the tapered system with straight 1.6/2/3.2 mm guides or flat Cheburashka guides. Check smooth line passage and the complete rig after assembly. Neither an insert nor a through-hole alone guarantees safe lead release.
Preparation and use
- Check the mold model, tapered profile and original part dimensions.
- Use a completely dry metal guide during casting and check seating and full mold closure.
- Remove the guide after solidification and let the casting cool completely.
- Fit the matching tapered insert, check the ends and test the assembled rig.
Before making a larger batch, check the first finished piece and the complete assembly. Assess the component dimensions together with its shape, attachment method and the requirements of the particular mold or rig.
Working safely
For casting, keep the mold, metal inserts and tools completely dry. Wear safety glasses and suitable gloves, provide effective ventilation and follow the mold, metal and melting equipment instructions. Wash your hands after working with lead. Fit plastic and rubber finishing parts only after the lead has cooled.
