SPRO CAST’X Pollack – Saltwater Jig

Product detailed description
SPRO CAST’X Pollack is a saltwater metal jig with a choice of 21 g, 28 g, 35 g, 42 g, 56 g on one product card. Select the weight for your rod and fishing conditions; the colour remains Pollack. Each pack contains one lure fitted with a treble hook.
Reflective foil and scale detail accompany an erratic action. CAST’X can be cast or fished vertically.
Pollack combines a dark back with bright sides for a restrained baitfish silhouette. It complements the striped Mackerel pattern. Comparing the two in the same weight lets you change the visual presentation without changing your tackle load at the same time.
Start with controlled lifts and pauses, keeping contact as the jig sinks. A steady retrieve interrupted by short pulls provides another presentation when casting. Avoid leaving a large loop of slack line: watch the drop and take up slack without dragging the lure unnaturally. Around rocks, shorten the time spent resting on the bottom and keep track of the lure’s position.
SAF selection guide: begin with the lightest option that lets you control the lure in the layer you want to fish. Move up a weight if current or drift makes contact difficult. Keep within the rod manufacturer’s stated range. Heavier is not automatically better, and the weight printed on the lure is not a guarantee of a particular working depth.
Current, drift, line diameter and retrieve speed all affect the presentation. Before changing the lure, try a different pace or a shorter pause. Work through one adjustment at a time. This makes it easier to identify whether depth, movement or colour is making the difference, instead of changing the whole setup at once.
| Weight | SAF starting point |
|---|---|
| 21 g | Lighter presentation; use when you can maintain contact. |
| 28 g | More weight; check lure contact and the rod’s range. |
| 35 g | More weight; check lure contact and the rod’s range. |
| 42 g | More weight; check lure contact and the rod’s range. |
| 56 g | More weight; check lure contact and the rod’s range. |
For convenient weight changes, choose a suitably sized BKK Duolock Snap-51. Match its strength to the whole setup. To compare another metal jig, see Westin Herrix Jig 40 g – Blue Mackerel. Explore the rest of our small saltwater metal jigs.
Rinse the jig, hook and rings with fresh water after saltwater use and dry them before storage. Check hook sharpness, the leader and the knot regularly. A worn connecting component should be replaced before the next cast or drop.
Are these different colour options?
No. All options on this card have the Pollack pattern; you select the weight. Other colours are separate product cards.
How do I choose the weight?
Choose according to the rod’s range and the contact you can maintain. Increase weight gradually when current or drift makes control difficult.
Does the colour name limit the target species?
No. It describes the pattern, not an exclusive target fish. Try the presentation against the forage and conditions at your fishing spot.
Can I fish it vertically?
Yes, CAST’X also allows vertical presentation. These lighter weights may not provide enough control in deep water or strong current.
What should I change if fish follow without taking?
Try a different retrieve speed, pause or fishing layer. Change one variable at a time and keep the hook in good condition.
