14 Nugget Gold - Eye Candy Pigments
Code: 2349/000005Product detailed description
14K Nugget Gold by Eye Candy Pigments is a pearlescent mica pigment for plastisol – it delivers a bold nugget-gold shimmer that looks clean and “alive” in soft baits. With its larger particle size, it’s especially strong for accent layers, swirls and gold highlights that add depth without making the bait look overdone.
Most important rule: add the pigment to hot clear plastisol (not cold). It shines best in clear or slightly tinted mixes where the gold reflection and depth can really pop.
Recommended workflow for soft bait making:
- Heat plastisol until fully clear (keep it in the workable “hot window”).
- Add a small amount of 14K Nugget Gold to hot clear plastisol and mix thoroughly.
- Adjust intensity in small steps – it’s easier to add than to fix an over-loaded mix. With larger particles, keep mixing as you work to reduce settling.
- Pour into the mold, or layer (belly / back). As an accent layer, 14K Nugget Gold really stands out.
On-the-water tip: For a natural “gold flash”, use it lightly in a clear swirl and let it do the highlight work. For maximum pop, run it as a thin dedicated layer (for example the back) and keep the rest of the bait more subtle.
Tech in short: manufacturer states 200–700 µm particle size. Ingredients (per manufacturer): Fluorphlogopite, Iron Oxide, Tin Dioxide. The pigment is heat stable; typical plastisol working temperatures are not an issue.
