Bronze - Eye Candy Pigments
Code: 3891/000005Product detailed description
Bronze by Eye Candy Pigments is a pearlescent mica powder made for plastisol and soft bait production. In the finished bait it creates a warm bronze shimmer with depth – perfect when you want a natural metallic touch and a clean, “alive” flash without going over the top.
Key rule: add the pigment to hot clear plastisol (not cold). It shines best in clear, brown, or olive mixes where the pearlescent effect can really pop.
Recommended workflow for soft bait making:
- Heat plastisol until fully clear (and keep it in the workable “hot window”).
- Add a small amount of Bronze to the hot clear plastisol and mix thoroughly. A solid starting point is 1–2% pigment by total plastisol weight, then adjust to the shimmer intensity you want.
- Fine-tune in small steps – with pearls it’s usually better to add twice than to overshoot once.
- Pour into the mold, or layer (belly / back) for a more natural look.
Practical tips: Bronze is a killer choice for craw/shrimp-style shades and natural brown/olive recipes. Use it as a subtle shimmer in a brown base, or as a bronze belly under a darker back (black / dark brown). For extra contrast, keep the pearl in a clear layer over a lightly tinted base – the movement flash looks richer.
Technical quick facts (per manufacturer): mica pigment, particle size 10–100 μm, heat threshold 1000–1832 °F (~540–1000 °C), ingredients: Fluorphlogopite, Iron Oxide.
