Iceburg Blue - Eye Candy Pigments
Code: 5319/000005Product detailed description
Iceburg Blue by Eye Candy Pigments is a pearlescent mica powder made for soft bait making with plastisol. In finished baits it creates a clean ice-blue shimmer with a cool grey undertone – perfect when you want a natural, fishy flash instead of a loud colour.
Most important rule: add the pigment to hot clear plastisol (not cold). It performs best in clear or lightly tinted mixes where the depth and pearlescent effect can really stand out.
Recommended workflow for soft bait making:
- Heat plastisol until it turns fully clear (and keep it in the working “hot window”).
- Add a small amount of Iceburg Blue to hot clear plastisol and mix thoroughly.
- Adjust strength in small steps – with pearls it’s better to build up than to overdo it.
- Pour into the mold, or layer (belly / back) for a more natural transition.
On-the-water tip: Iceburg Blue shines in clear recipes for cold-water looks and baitfish-style finishes – a subtle, realistic flash that doesn’t overpower the base colour. If you want more contrast, keep the pearl in a clear layer and back it with a thin milky or lightly tinted layer for a fuller, more readable effect.
Quick tech: fine mica pigment (typically 10–60 µm). Manufacturer heat stability: 392–572 °F (approx. 200–300 °C). Ingredients (per manufacturer): mica, titanium dioxide, ultramarine blue.
