Koga Gold - Eye Candy Pigments
Code: 5841/000005Product detailed description
Koga Gold by Eye Candy Pigments is a pearlescent mica pigment made for soft bait making in plastisol. In finished lures it creates a warm gold shimmer and, at certain angles, a subtle green undertone – a great way to give your soft plastics that “alive” fishing flash.
Key rule: add the pigment to hot clear plastisol (not cold). It shines best in clear or lightly tinted mixes where the pearlescent depth can really pop.
Recommended workflow for pouring soft plastic lures:
- Heat plastisol until it turns fully clear and stays in a stable working range.
- Sprinkle a small amount of Koga Gold into hot clear plastisol and mix thoroughly.
- Increase intensity gradually – pearlescent pigments are easier to build than to “undo”.
- Pour into your mold, or layer (belly/back) for a more natural look.
Workshop tip: use Koga Gold as a “base gold pearl” for baitfish-style colors. For stronger contrast, keep the pearl in a clear top layer and use a light backing tone underneath – the shimmer reads deeper and the lure looks more dimensional in the water.
Technical quick facts: mica pigment, particle size 10–60 μm; manufacturer lists a heat threshold of 392 °F (~200 °C). Ingredients (manufacturer): mica, titanium dioxide, tin oxide, iron oxide.
Build your setup here: soft bait production, plastisol and plastisol additives. More effects are in plastisol pigments (mica) and specifically pearlescent powder pigments.
