Detailed information

Product detailed description

Westin Sandy Andy Jig 17 cm / 62 g – Bluetooth is a slim saltwater soft lure built around a realistic sandeel / sand eel imitation. The narrow body, natural profile and complete jig head setup make it suitable for active spinning, jigging and controlled retrieve with pauses and drops. This size belongs among the very practical medium-weight models in the Sandy Andy range – it is not a light inshore toy, but it is also not a heavy deep-water lure meant only for serious depth.

With this model, it is important to understand the weight marking correctly. For the 17 cm / 62 g size, Westin works with the marking HEAD 44 g and TOTAL 62 g. The 44 g value refers to the jig head weight only, while 62 g is the total weight of the complete ready-to-fish lure including the soft body. That is why we use the total weight 62 g in the product name – the customer buys a complete lure, not only the jig head.

The combination of 62 g weight and 17 cm length gives Sandy Andy very good use in Norway fishing. It is suitable for casting around shorelines, kelp areas, edges, shallower underwater humps and places where you need to cast the lure further, keep it under control and work it actively in the right water layer. This is where Sandy Andy works as a refined saltwater soft lure – a slim prey imitation that can handle more current and depth than very light spinning soft baits.

The Bluetooth colour is based on a cool blue-silver baitfish profile. The darker back, blue flank, lighter belly and subtle reflective effect create the natural silhouette of a small saltwater baitfish. This colour makes sense especially in clearer water, daylight conditions and around edges, kelp and underwater structure, where predators often react to a natural flash and slim prey profile.

Bluetooth is not an extremely aggressive colour. It is a more natural option for situations where you do not want a loud contrast colour, but still need the lure to remain visible and readable in the water. In Norway fishing, it fits well when predators are feeding on smaller fish, sandeel-shaped prey, herring-like baitfish or other blue-silver saltwater forage.

Westin Sandy Andy Jig is supplied as a complete lure with a pre-shaped jig head and soft body. The manufacturer describes this range with active 3D eyes, hand-painted details, realistic appearance, optimised stiffness and mobility and a sharp saltwater hook. A practical advantage is the package with 1 jig head + 2 bodies, so when the soft body is damaged, you do not have to replace the whole lure – you can continue fishing with the spare body.

You can fish Sandy Andy in several ways. It works on a steady retrieve, stop-and-go retrieve, jigging and controlled drops. In this weight, it is especially useful when you do not want to fish passively near the bottom only, but actively search the water column. For pollack and cod, it works well around edges, rocks and kelp. For halibut, this 62 g model is more of a situational choice in shallower or medium depths, where a natural smaller baitfish profile and controlled presentation close to structure can make sense.

Within the Sandy Andy range, the 17 cm / 62 g model can be seen as a medium-heavy saltwater spinning lure. Compared with lighter versions, it keeps better contact in current, reaches working depth faster and handles stronger tackle more comfortably. Compared with the heavier 82 g and larger models, it still keeps an active spinning character. That makes it a very useful compromise for anglers who want a practical Norway lure without immediately moving into a heavy pilk or halibut jig style.

The primary use of this lure is saltwater fishing. In Norway, it makes sense mainly for cod, pollack, coalfish and, depending on the situation, also halibut. In warmer saltwater destinations, a similar slim baitfish profile can also work for other saltwater predators when they are feeding on smaller fish or sandeel-shaped prey. For freshwater fishing, I would be careful with this exact weight – 62 g is already more of a saltwater working weight, not a standard soft lure for light freshwater spinning.

Westin Sandy Andy Jig 17 cm / 62 g – Bluetooth is a strong choice for anglers looking for a realistic saltwater soft lure with a more natural blue-silver presentation. It is not a universal soft bait for every situation, but a well-designed sandeel imitation for active sea fishing where the right weight, lure control, natural profile and readable colour make the difference.
