Guideline LPX Nymph
Code: GL106482Product detailed description
Guideline LPX Nymph Fly Rod is a premium single-hand fly rod range for modern nymphing and euro nymphing. It is built for anglers who want maximum contact with the nymph, a highly sensitive tip, precise leader control and low hand fatigue during long sessions with the rod tip held high above the water.
The blank is based on C.A.P M4.0™ blank construction technology. Guideline combines Complex Axial Pattern with unidirectional carbon fibre structure to create low weight, multi-directional stability, fast recovery and high precision. In a nymphing rod this is not just a technical detail – stability and recovery directly affect how cleanly you stay connected to the rig and how precisely you react to subtle takes.
The rod action is Full / Mid Flex with Medium Fast / Fast Recovery. The tip is very sensitive and protective when fishing thin tippets, the middle section engages smoothly, and the lower blank adds reserve when fighting larger fish. The result is a rod that does not feel dull or overly soft – it is sensitive, fast, precise and still able to cushion sudden fish movements.
LPX Nymph has several details that make practical sense directly on the river. The larger spiral pattern on the blank helps reduce line-stick when thin nymphing lines or monofilament leaders touch a wet blank. The first stripper guide is placed close to the grip to reduce line sag and lost contact during line management. A small snake guide near the tip reduces the risk of thin line wrapping around the blank and guides.
The component level matches the LPX class. The rod is equipped with titanium stripper guides with Zirconia inserts, PVD coated single-leg guides in a semi-matte gun smoke finish without chrome plating, Super Grade cork grip, premium wood reel seat insert and a small rubber cork butt. The down-locking reel seat moves balance closer to the hand and helps reduce swing weight on a longer nymphing rod.
Choosing the right LPX Nymph model is important. The 10'8" #2 is the fine and highly sensitive model for modern nymphing with thin tippets down to 8X, smaller nymphs and delicate presentation. The 10'2" #3 is the most versatile model for small to medium rivers and can also cast a regular fly line. The 10'8" #3 is the more dedicated euro nymphing specialist with extra reach for drift control. The 10'2" #4 adds power for larger fish, heavier nymphs and stronger water while still protecting fine leaders.
| Size | Length | Line weight | Rec. head weight | Weight | Tube length | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10'8" #2 | 10'8" / 325 cm | #2 | 5–7 g / 77–100 grains | 77 g | 92 cm | fine nymphs, 8X tippet, dry & dropper |
| 10'2" #3 | 10'2" / 310 cm | #3 | 7–9 g / 110–140 grains | 76 g | 88 cm | most versatile nymph model |
| 10'8" #3 | 10'8" / 325 cm | #3 | 7–9 g / 110–140 grains | 82 g | 92 cm | longer drifts, larger rivers, pure euro nymphing |
| 10'2" #4 | 10'2" / 310 cm | #4 | 9–11 g / 140–170 grains | 80 g | 88 cm | larger fish, heavier nymphs, stronger current |
The 10'8" #2 is the finest and most sensitive model. It makes sense when you need to fish small and light nymphs with maximum contact, use very thin tippets and still have enough reserve for better fish. It is technical, but surprisingly versatile for dry & dropper fishing as well.
The 10'2" #3 is the main all-round model in the series. It suits small to medium rivers, all-round nymphing and anglers who want one premium nymphing rod that can also handle a regular fly line.
The 10'8" #3 is the more dedicated euro nymphing specialist. The longer blank improves reach, contact and drift control on larger water. If you spend most of your time with the rod tip held high and need to read every pause in the leader, this model makes a lot of sense.
The 10'2" #4 is the stronger model for larger fish, heavier nymphs, deeper current and situations where a softer #2 or #3 may not have enough reserve. It still keeps the sensitivity and tippet protection that define the LPX Nymph range.
Guideline LPX Nymph is supplied as a 4-piece rod with a recycled polyester rod bag and a strong polypropylene tube with recycled polyester fabric cover. Within Guideline’s nymphing rods, it sits above Elevation Nymph as the more technical, lighter and more precise high-end option.

Which LPX Nymph model is the most versatile?
The most versatile choice is 10'2" #3. It suits small to medium rivers, all-round nymphing and can also cast a regular fly line.
When should I choose the 10'8" #2?
The 10'8" #2 is ideal for delicate modern nymphing, small nymphs, very thin tippets down to 8X and situations where sensitivity, accuracy and leader protection matter most.
Why does LPX Nymph use a spiral blank surface?
The larger spiral pattern helps reduce line-stick when thin nymphing lines or monofilament leaders touch a wet blank. This improves line management, drift control and contact with the rig.
How is LPX Nymph different from Elevation Nymph?
LPX Nymph is the higher-end, more technical and more sensitive series with C.A.P M4.0™ construction, premium components and very low swing weight. Elevation Nymph is the more accessible modern nymphing series.
