Dead On Plastix Dawn from the UV NEONS Dye of the Dead range is a concentrated liquid plastisol colour for making soft plastic lures. It produces a vivid pink to fuchsia-pink shade and belongs to the manufacturer’s UV NEONS Dye of the Dead range. Suitable for contrasting sections and multicolour lures. Add the colour concentrate to your base plastisol; it is neither ready-to-use plastisol nor a surface paint for finished lures.

Its key feature is NO-BLEED, which reduces colour migration. When differently coloured layers are in contact, colour can gradually move between them and alter their shade. Dawn is designed to greatly reduce this unwanted transfer. This is useful for laminated, two-colour and multicolour lures, especially when combining a dark back with a light belly and aiming to keep the layers visually separate over time. For smaller batches, use borosilicate glass containers, such as a 250 ml measuring cup or a 500 ml measuring cup. Clean, dry stainless steel mixing balls can help homogenise colours; choose their size and number to suit the bottle.

All three bottle sizes contain the same colour at the same concentration. Choosing a different volume changes the amount available, not the strength of the colourant.

Lamination and twin injection

Dawn suits a pink belly, tail or other contrasting section. In a laminate, try it alongside a dark, white or naturally coloured layer. For twin injection, prepare the two coloured mixtures separately. The injector setup can use the Twin Adapter / T-ADAPTER and Double Clamp / T-KLAMMER; check compatibility with your particular injectors and mould. NO-BLEED helps reduce subsequent colour migration, while forming a sharp boundary also depends on the mould, temperatures and injection technique.
