Fish eyes for soft baits
Fish eyes for soft baits are a small detail that makes a big difference in the finished look. They work for soft lure molds, detailed pours and also for sea lure fishing setups – whenever you want a clean, “ready to fish” presentation.
In practice you’ll pair eyes with plastisol, liquid colors and plastisol additives. For the full workflow, see soft bait making – workshop.

Fish eyes for soft baits – the finishing detail
Eyes are one of the fastest upgrades you can make to your soft baits. Sometimes it’s purely visual, but on realistic profiles it can also improve confidence in clearer water and on slower retrieves.
How to choose eyes (quick guide)
→ Size: match the head/body profile (slightly smaller often looks more natural).
→ Contrast: dark on light and vice versa – keep it visible at depth.
→ Style: realistic vs. aggressive predator look – based on bait type and water conditions.
What usually goes with eyes
→ Plastisol – the base material (clarity, stability and hardness options).
→ Liquid colors + plastisol additives – for color, effect and fine-tuning the bait’s behavior.
→ Soft bait molds – shape and detail.
→ Injectors – clean, repeatable injections (especially with detailed molds).
→ Borosilicate – safer heating and mixing.
