Savage Gear Cutbait Herring – Coalfish | 25cm – 460g is the heavy “deep-water” option for halibut fishing and big cod, built around a realistic juvenile Atlantic herring profile. This version is made for the days when you need fast sink, solid bottom contact and full control in strong drift.

The Coalfish pattern targets a very common Norwegian fjord prey fish: saithe / coalfish, a fast schooling species that predators treat as a regular meal. Combining a herring silhouette with a saithe-style pattern makes perfect sense when halibut and big cod sit deep and key in on bigger bites.

What we take from the original Savage Gear concept (rewritten): Cutbait Herring was developed with input from experienced guides and lure designers targeting big fish in cold northern waters.
