Product detailed description
Westin CudaKid 180EFS Sinking 18 cm / 57 g – Redhead Zebra Glow is a fast-sinking saltwater stickbait built for tropical and subtropical predators. It is not a metal jig, small pilker or classic deep-water lure. CudaKid is a long, slim and durable hard bait made for long casts, aggressive retrieves, deep walking action and fish that attack fleeing slender prey.
The 180EFS model is 18 cm long, weighs 57 g and has an extra-fast sinking construction. Thanks to the slim body, low water resistance and good casting stability, the lure can be sent a long way even in wind and quickly gets below the surface into the working zone. That matters when fishing from shore, reef edges, current lines, drop-offs, rocky areas, harbour structures or around baitfish schools in open water.
The Redhead Zebra Glow colour is the strongest visual trigger option in this group. The red head creates a clear attack point, the bright glow body increases visibility and the zebra pattern adds contrast that remains readable in broken surface, stained water, low light or deeper presentations. This is not a subtle natural colour – it is an intentionally aggressive signal for situations where you want to provoke a fast reaction strike.
In warm saltwater, Redhead Zebra Glow makes strong sense for barracuda, snapper, bluefish, amberjack, bonito, Spanish mackerel, smaller jacks and other active saltwater predators. It works especially well when predators are hunting fast, the water is not perfectly clear or when you need the lure to stand out at distance. Around reefs, current channels, rocks and harbour structures, the red head and glow body can be exactly the trigger that turns a following fish into a striking fish.
The construction is a key part of CudaKid’s purpose. The long slim body creates low resistance, the full through-wire construction adds strength for hard strikes and the 4X Ultra anti-rust treble hooks are ready for saltwater use. This is important with tropical fish that hit hard, change direction fast and often try to reach rocks, reefs, current or other structure immediately after the strike.
The retrieve can be fast and direct, but Redhead Zebra Glow also works extremely well with changes of rhythm. Fast retrieve, jerk & pause, longer rod sweeps, controlled sink and deep walking below the surface all make sense. Strikes often come when the lure stops after a jerk, starts to sink or briefly shows its side with a strong flash and contrast.
Although CudaKid is primarily a tropical and subtropical lure, this colour can also make sense in colder saltwater. In fjords or around rocky coastlines, Redhead Zebra Glow can help when targeting pollack, saithe, mackerel or active cod feeding in the water column, especially in lower visibility, low light, current or places where natural colours disappear too quickly.
CudaKid 180EFS Redhead Zebra Glow is ideal for anglers who want a more visible stickbait for tougher light and water conditions. If fish are feeding in clear water and reacting to natural baitfish, Sardine or Ghost Sardine may be the better choice. If you need a stronger visual trigger, a red attack point, glow body and a lure that stays visible in broken conditions, Redhead Zebra Glow is the right variant.
FAQ – Westin CudaKid 180EFS 18 cm / 57 g Redhead Zebra Glow
What is Redhead Zebra Glow best used for?
Redhead Zebra Glow is best for low light, broken surface, stained water, current and situations where predators need a stronger visual trigger. The red head creates an attack point and the glow body helps the lure stay visible when natural colours are too subtle.
Is CudaKid a pilker or metal jig?
No. CudaKid is a hard saltwater stickbait, not a pilker or metal jig. It is designed for long casts, fast retrieves, jerk-and-pause action, controlled sink and deep walking movement below the surface.
Which fish can I target with Redhead Zebra Glow?
In warm saltwater, this colour makes sense for barracuda, snapper, bluefish, amberjack, bonito, Spanish mackerel, smaller jacks and other active predators feeding on slender baitfish.
When should I choose Redhead Zebra Glow instead of Sardine or Ghost Sardine?
Choose Redhead Zebra Glow when visibility is lower, the water is rougher, the light is weaker or when fish react better to a strong attack point and higher contrast. Sardine and Ghost Sardine are more natural choices for clearer water and more selective fish.
Can this lure be used in Norway or cold saltwater?
Yes, but as a crossover lure. In cold saltwater, Redhead Zebra Glow can make sense for pollack, saithe, mackerel or active cod feeding in the water column, especially when visibility is poor or the fish react to stronger contrast.
How should I retrieve CudaKid Redhead Zebra Glow?
Use fast retrieves, jerk-and-pause action, longer rod sweeps, controlled sink and deep walking below the surface. The colour is strongest when combined with speed changes, side flash and short pauses.
Is it suitable for heavy offshore tuna fishing?
This lure should not be presented as a heavy offshore tuna lure. It is a strong saltwater stickbait for active coastal, tropical and light offshore predators, but big-game tuna fishing usually requires more specialised tackle.
