Stainless spring wire shaft 0.8mm 60mm is a longer workshop component for making fishing rigs, metal lures, stingers, rig systems, spinner blades and lead castings. Compared to the shorter 25 mm and 40 mm versions, it offers more working length, making it suitable where the shaft needs to run through a larger part of the casting or form a stronger through-wire base for the finished fishing component.

The 60 mm length makes sense mainly for longer metal parts, small pilker-style lures, metal jigs, zocker-type lures, hanging attractors and rig systems where strong attachment points are needed at both ends. The longer design is useful whenever the finished component needs to carry a hook, split ring, swivel or another rigging part without unnecessary bending or improvised fitting.

The shaft is made from 0.8mm stainless spring wire. Spring wire holds its shape better than ordinary soft wire and is suitable for fishing use, where components are often exposed to water, moisture, salt and repeated mechanical stress. With a longer shaft, material stability is even more important, as the shaft often forms the core strength of the finished part.

In the workshop, the 60mm shaft can be used as a base for longer streamers, tassels, stingers, rig systems, spinner blades, metal jigs and pilker-style lures. A typical example is a mold for small spinning pilkers or metal jigs, where the 60mm shaft is inserted into the mold before pouring. After casting, cooling and removing the lure from the mold, the finished casting needs to be cleaned and the sprue removed. For clean cutting, we recommend using Knipex 72 01 160 side cutters.
