Fluorocarbon ICE fish Fleuron 0.70mm 100m (29kg)
Code: 120270Product detailed description
ICE fish Fleuron 0.7 mm is a very well-balanced leader line for sea fishing, sitting right between the heavier power diameters and the finer options for lighter use. That is exactly why it is such a practical choice for anglers who want one material for medium-heavy sea spinning, classic cod rigs and lighter to medium-strong mackerel feather systems. At this diameter, the line still offers a very solid reserve of strength, while remaining noticeably easier to handle than 0.8 mm, 0.9 mm or 1.0 mm.
Based on the available information, this is not a pure fluorocarbon line, but a hybrid construction combining a nylon core with an abrasion-resistant outer layer. In practice, that matters because Fleuron is not built mainly around marketing claims about invisibility, but around real function in sea fishing. It offers good abrasion resistance, solid knot strength and very comfortable usability wherever the angler needs a strong but still easy-to-tie leader material.
The 0.7 mm diameter makes especially good sense for medium-heavy spinning in sea fishing, typically in front of lures around 100 to 150 g. In this category, it works very well with soft lures, jigs, sandeel-style lures and other actively worked lures used on spinning rods. Combined with a braided line, it creates a very practical balance of strength, durability and still-natural rig behaviour.
ICE fish Fleuron 0.7 mm is also very suitable for classic cod teaser rigs and other leaders where loops, droppers and multi-part sections are tied directly from the line. This is one of its biggest strengths. Compared with thicker diameters, knots are already very comfortable to tie, so there is no need to overcomplicate the setup. It can be tied directly to a snap, through a solid ring or into a full rig without needing complicated joining or crimping. That makes it a very practical material for anglers who build their own rigs and want clean, fast and reliable work.
This diameter is also very often used for bought or hand-tied mackerel feather rigs and other lighter to medium-strong multi-hook systems where several lures or feathers hang on one leader. For this kind of setup, 0.7 mm is a very sensible choice because it gives enough strength and security, but still does not feel unnecessarily stiff or heavy. In normal conditions, it works very well for mackerel feathers, lighter multi-hook rigs and universal leaders for Central Norway and similar destinations.
Compared with 0.8 mm, the 0.7 mm version is slightly more versatile wherever the angler does not want to move fully into a heavier power setup, but still needs something genuinely strong. It is still a serious leader material that can handle bigger fish without problems, while also allowing slower presentations, shallower water fishing and a more natural overall rig feel. That is exactly where its biggest advantage lies — it can still handle tougher jobs, but behaves much better in normal day-to-day fishing.
An interesting point is that ICE fish Fleuron 0.7 mm is also used in freshwater fishing. Some anglers buy it as a strong leader material for pike, making shorter leaders in front of wobblers and other pike lures. At this diameter, it is still a very durable material and an interesting alternative for anglers who do not want to use a traditional wire trace, but still want more confidence in the leader.
Compared with an ordinary lower-cost monofilament, Fleuron offers better durability for sea fishing leaders and a tougher character for harder use. Compared with pure fluorocarbon, its role is different — instead of focusing on the lowest possible visibility in the water, it leans more on practicality, abrasion resistance and price/performance value. At 0.7 mm, that balance is especially well judged, because this is already strong enough for serious use while still remaining very comfortable for classic tied rigs.
ICE fish Fleuron belongs among the long-established and well-known lines in the sea fishing leader segment. In the 0.7 mm version, it is a very practical choice for anglers looking for one versatile material for cod rigs, mackerel feather systems, leaders in front of jigs and soft lures up to around 150 g, and in some cases also for building stronger pike leaders.
