Within the range, it sits between the more versatile #8 and the finer #12. Its role is to limit the influence of the rigging on a small lure while retaining the mechanical reserve of forged 2X wire.

On a lure measuring around five centimetres, even a small difference in hook weight can change buoyancy, centre of gravity or vibration frequency. When selecting #10, compare its overall height, gape and weight with the original treble hook. The points must remain exposed beyond the body, the hook must rotate freely on the split ring and, on a two-hook lure, the front and rear trebles must not repeatedly lock together.

The 2X designation describes the wire and strength class, not an exact load rating in kilograms. Fangs-62 is neither an extra-fine 1X treble nor a heavy-duty model for extreme fishing. SAF positions size #10 primarily as a replacement treble hook for light spinning. Ultra-Antirust also allows it to be used on small coastal hardbaits in saltwater, but there is no reason to present this size as a pilker hook. After contact with saltwater, rinse, dry and inspect the hook carefully.

Fangs-62 UA #10 is not automatically a substitute for every treble hook carrying the same size number.
