Product detailed description

Guideline AURA Bronze Fly Reel is a modern fly reel series built around balance, precision and clean Scandinavian design. The Bronze version combines a technical full-frame construction with a warm, elegant finish and covers a very wide range of fly fishing situations – from light trout fishing and Euro nymphing to coastal, saltwater, salmon and double-hand applications.

The AURA reel family uses a fully sealed carbon-fibre drag system for smooth and consistent braking power in both fresh and salt water. The large-arbor design improves line pick-up and fish control, while the narrow spool dimensions help the line lay evenly without unnecessary stacking. The full-frame construction is especially important when fishing thin shooting lines, monofilament nymphing lines or demanding double-hand setups.

The reel body is CNC-machined from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminium, combining low weight, strength and corrosion resistance. AURA reels are delivered with left-hand retrieve as standard, but can be converted to right-hand retrieve. Each size is designed for a specific purpose, which makes the Size Guide an important part of choosing the right reel.

Size choice is essential with this model. #34 is the delicate trout size, #56 is the main all-round trout reel, EURO is built for modern Euro nymphing, #78 covers stronger single-hand and light migratory fishing, #910 is made for heavy single-hand and saltwater use, while DH #810 and DH #1012 are designed for double-hand salmon and steelhead setups.

Frequently Asked Questions – Guideline AURA Bronze Fly Reel

Which Guideline AURA Bronze size should I choose?

#34 is best for light trout fishing, #56 is the main all-round trout size, EURO is made for modern Euro nymphing, #78 covers stronger single-hand and light migratory fishing, #910 is built for heavy single-hand and saltwater use, while DH #810 and DH #1012 are designed for double-hand salmon and steelhead rods.

Is AURA Bronze suitable for saltwater fishing?

Yes, especially the stronger single-hand sizes such as #78 and #910. The sealed carbon-fibre drag, CNC-machined aluminium body and corrosion-resistant construction make the reel suitable for demanding fresh and saltwater use.

What is the difference between AURA EURO and the standard sizes?

The EURO version is designed specifically for Euro nymphing. It has a pronounced large-arbor layout, narrow spool configuration and weight balance suited to longer nymphing rods from around 10 ft and up.

Why is the full-frame design important?

The full-frame construction helps prevent thin shooting lines, monofilament nymphing lines or running lines from slipping between the spool and the frame. This is especially useful for Euro nymphing, shooting head systems and double-hand fishing.

Can the retrieve direction be changed?

Yes. AURA reels are supplied with left-hand retrieve as standard, but they can be converted to right-hand retrieve using a flat-head screwdriver.
