Product detailed description

Guideline Scandi Black/Blue Fly Reel is a premium fly reel for modern Scandi, Spey, switch and double-handed salmon setups. The Scandi series is built for migratory fish, long lines, shooting head systems and situations where drag power, frame stability and precise line control are essential. The Black/Blue version combines a black body with blue accents, giving the reel a cooler, more technical and modern look than the bronze version.

The reel is built around a 3D CNC-machined aluminium construction, a deep narrow large-arbor spool, full-frame body and a high-torque titanium drag system. The smaller #68 and #79 sizes use the H-Ti3 drag system with 7.5 kg of drag force, while the larger #911 and #11+ sizes use the H-Ti5 system with 10 kg of drag force. The drag is designed as a sealed multi-disc system with titanium discs and carbon friction surfaces.

The deep narrow spool with vertical side walls is designed for modern, heavier shooting heads and helps reduce unnecessary backing build-up during long fights. The full-frame construction also helps prevent thin running lines or shooting lines from slipping between the spool and the reel frame. A practical detail is the line capacity marking engraved inside the reel foot, making it easier to choose the right line and backing setup.

Choosing the correct size is important with the Scandi series. #68 suits stronger single-hand rods and lighter switch rods, #79 is a natural choice for switch and lighter double-handed rods, #911 is aimed at double-handed rods around line classes #8/9 to #10/11, and #11+ is the largest version for heavy salmon double-handed rods around 15–16 ft.
