SaBoFlex Standard Pink is a concentrated pigment paste for colouring plastisol when making soft-plastic fishing lures. It provides a standard pink tone for whole bodies, bellies, tails, side layers and contrasting details. This is a colour concentrate designed to be mixed into plastisol – not ready-to-use plastisol, an airbrush colour or a surface coating.

Standard Pink is a basic pink shade. BubbleGum, Salmon, Motor Oil Pink and Fluo Pink are separate shades or product ranges; their appearance and properties must not be attributed to Standard Pink. Without a technical data sheet, we do not describe it as neon, fluorescent, UV-active, transparent or metallic. Always judge the actual appearance from a cooled sample made with your own plastisol.

For colours in the SaBoFlex Standard range, SAF recommends adding them in small increments to plastisol that is already hot and clear. It is difficult to assess the true intensity in a cold, milky-looking base. In clear plastisol at working temperature, you can monitor the change in shade and build the intensity gradually. Prepare the plastisol in accordance with its manufacturer's temperature and safety instructions, and do not overheat it.

We do not specify a fixed number of drops per 100 g. Drop size varies with the dispensing nozzle, while the finished appearance depends on the base plastisol, dose, lure thickness, other additives and lighting. Start with a small amount; a mixture that is too pale can be coloured further, but concentrate that has already been added cannot be removed. For repeatable production, record the amount of plastisol, colour dose and additives used.

Standard Pink can be used for an entire pink body, belly, tail, side stripe or smaller contrasting detail. Black creates a pronounced dark back, white a paler opposing layer, and blue or purple a cooler colour combination. In a small test batch, white can be used carefully to soften the pink. Add silver, pink or holographic high-temperature glitter only after mixing the shade.

The 50 g option is practical for trying the shade for the first time, making smaller batches or equipping a workshop with a broader palette of colours. The 250 g bottle makes more sense for regular production or repeated use of the same recipe; the greater mass of its contents also makes it easier to shake the whole bottle thoroughly. The concentration and recommended method of use remain the same for both pack sizes.

Storage and packaging appearance

Store the colour upright in its original tightly closed bottle, in a dry place at a stable room temperature and away from direct sunlight. Protect it from frost and significant temperature fluctuations. If the sealed bottle has become cold, allow it to return naturally to room temperature before homogenising the contents. Do not warm it on a radiator, hotplate or in a microwave oven.

Packaging notice: Particularly after transport, a light oily film may appear around the thread or leave a mark on the label, even when the bottle is closed. Provided there is no visible loss of contents, this surface trace does not affect use of the colour; we apologise for any marking of the label. After dosing, wipe the bottle neck and thread, retighten the cap firmly and store the bottle upright, ideally in a washable tray or sealed bag.

No. Salmon, BubbleGum and Fluo Pink are separate shades or product ranges. Their appearance and properties must not be attributed to Standard Pink, and we do not describe Standard Pink as fluorescent without explicit supporting documentation.

When should I use pink for the whole body, and when only as a detail?

Using it for the whole body creates a uniform pink base. A belly, tail, side stripe or tip preserves the other colours and adds pink only to a defined area.

How can I create a paler pink shade?

Start with a lower dosage of Standard Pink. Further lightening can be trialled in a small batch with compatible white, although this may also alter the saturation and optical character of the mixture.

Which colours create a contrasting laminate with Standard Pink?

Black creates a dark back, white a pale adjoining layer, and blue or purple a cooler combination. Test every arrangement in a small casting first.

Which glitter can I try with Standard Pink?

Pink complements the base colour, silver preserves a cleaner appearance and holographic glitter adds a multicoloured reflection. The glitter must be suitable for hot plastisol.

Why does a photograph not determine the exact appearance of the finished pink lure?

The photograph shows concentrated paste under particular lighting. In plastisol, the result is affected by dosage, thickness, the base material and other additives.
