SaBoFlex Standard White is a concentrated pigment paste for colouring plastisol when making soft-plastic fishing lures. It provides a basic white shade for whole bodies, pale bellies, flanks and contrasting layers. This is a colour concentrate intended to be mixed into base plastisol – not ready-to-use plastisol, an airbrush colour or a surface coating.

Standard White is a basic white shade. Snow White, pearlescent and metallic white products are separate shades or product ranges; their properties should not be attributed to Standard White. The name alone does not confirm UV activity, fluorescence or a specific degree of opacity. Always judge the actual appearance from a cooled sample made with your own plastisol.

For colours in the SaBoFlex Standard range, SAF recommends adding them in small increments to plastisol that is already hot and clear. It is difficult to assess the true intensity in a cold, milky-looking base. In clear plastisol at working temperature, you can monitor the change in shade and build the intensity gradually. Prepare the plastisol in accordance with its manufacturer's temperature and safety instructions, and do not overheat it.

We do not specify a fixed number of drops per 100 g. Drop size varies with the dispensing nozzle, while the finished appearance depends on the base plastisol, dose, lure thickness, other additives and lighting. Start with a small amount; a mixture that is too pale can be coloured further, but concentrate that has already been added cannot be removed. For repeatable production, record the amount of plastisol, colour dose and additives used.

Standard White can be used for a completely white body, a pale belly, flank, tail or a separate laminate layer paired with a darker back. It may also be used in a small test batch to lighten another shade; white pigment can, however, alter its saturation and overall visual character as well as its lightness. Suitable high-temperature silver, white or holographic glitter can add flash, but always check a new combination on a test sample.

The 50 g option is practical for trying the shade for the first time, making smaller batches or equipping a workshop with a broader palette of colours. The 250 g bottle makes more sense for regular production or repeated use of the same recipe; the greater mass of its contents also makes it easier to shake the whole bottle thoroughly. The concentration and recommended method of use remain the same for both pack sizes.

Storage and packaging appearance

Store the colour upright in its original tightly closed bottle, in a dry place at a stable room temperature and away from direct sunlight. Protect it from frost and significant temperature fluctuations. If the sealed bottle has become cold, allow it to return naturally to room temperature before homogenising the contents. Do not warm it on a radiator, hotplate or in a microwave oven.

Packaging notice: Particularly after transport, a light oily film may appear around the thread or leave a mark on the label, even when the bottle is closed. Provided there is no visible loss of contents, this surface trace does not affect use of the colour; we apologise for any marking of the label. After dosing, wipe the bottle neck and thread, retighten the cap firmly and store the bottle upright, ideally in a washable tray or sealed bag.

Frequently asked questions about SaBoFlex Standard White

How does Standard White differ from Snow White or pearlescent white?

They are separate products with different appearances. Standard White denotes a basic white shade; without a technical data sheet, we do not attribute a snow-white, pearlescent, metallic or UV effect to it.

Can Standard White be used to lighten another colour?

Yes, but test it in a small batch first. Add it gradually, because it may alter not only the lightness but also the saturation, translucency and overall character of the original shade.

Will the finished white casting be completely opaque?

The manufacturer does not specify an exact degree of opacity in the available documentation. The result depends on the dose, base plastisol and lure thickness, so assess it on a cooled sample.

When should I use white for the whole body and when only for the belly?

A completely white body creates a uniform pale base. Using it only for the belly or as a separate light layer preserves the colour of the back and creates a clearer division in a multicoloured lure.

Which glitter can I try with Standard White?

Silver or white glitter maintains a more neutral appearance, while holographic glitter adds a multicoloured flash. Use glitter suitable for the working temperature of plastisol and add it only after mixing the base colour.

Why can the finished lure look different from the colour in the bottle?

The bottle contains a concentrated pigment paste. Once mixed into plastisol, its appearance is affected by the dose, clarity of the base, casting thickness, other additives and lighting. A cooled test casting is the decisive reference.
