Lead Coating Powder - Camo Black

Product detailed description
Camo Black is a great choice when you want your lead to blend into the bottom – a natural camo tone that works well on mud, gravel and rocky spots. This rubber paint for lead creates a tough protective coating that resists abrasion and holds up on heavy weights used for long casts.
In real use, it’s mainly applied to heavy carp leads and casting sinkers (in-line leads, backleads, flat leads and other heavy weights). Compared to powder paint, rubber paint is thicker and heavier, which increases the demands on application—especially with a roller. For an air-driven paint roller, stable airflow and power matter, so the Hailea ACO 208 compressor is the recommended solution for rubber paint applications.
You can also mix shades to create your own tone—Camo Black is often used to darken blends or to achieve a dirtier camo finish.
recommended application (proven in practice):
-
preparation: clean and degrease the lead
-
heating: heat to approx. 160–200 °C (convection oven usually 10–15 min; torch only a few seconds—do not let the lead melt)
-
applying: use an air paint roller (best for batches) or a quick dip into powder (shake the powder container first)
-
tapping: gently tap off excess for an even layer
-
curing: approx. 180 °C for 10–20 min for maximum durability
-
cooling: let it cool in air or hang it
tip: for a camo effect, lightly sprinkle a second shade onto the warm base layer (or pre-mix shades) and cure.
