The Hailea ACO-208 Compressor is an oil-free electromagnetic piston air source for coating setups requiring greater airflow. SAF supplies it primarily for fluidising rubberized coatings for lead. Compared with small diaphragm air pumps, it provides more reserve for larger fills and regular coating of pilkers, cheburashka weights and fishing sinkers.
A suitable core setup uses the Powder Paint Fluid Bed XL, which has two air inlets. Supply both through the manifold; the Powder Paint Fluid Bed Extension Cup for XL adds room for longer castings. Smaller beds need greater airflow reduction. Strong airflow must not blow powder out and does not establish compatibility with every powder.
Connections and the SAF set: Hailea ACO-208 compressor, airline, 8 mm brass connector, plastic manifold with six outlets for 4/6 mm airline, rubber connector and CZ/EN instructions. The fluid bed and coating are selected separately. Six outlets do not guarantee simultaneous operation of six large beds; total airflow is shared between branches.
Rubberized coatings in the SAF range require Hailea. Neither APS 100 nor APS 400 lifts them adequately. With Hailea and controlled airflow, rubberized coatings can be used on a small scale in Amigo or Medium. XL with Hailea is the main recommended setup and also works with the XL extension. Hailea can likewise supply powder paints with appropriate airflow regulation.

Recommended workflow
- Place the compressor on a dry, firm surface away from airborne powder and heat sources. Leave space around it for cooling.
- Connect the outlet to the manifold and the appropriate airlines to the fluid bed. Supply both inlets on XL.
- Control airflow using suitable accessories and the compressor instructions; never block the entire outlet or close every branch.
- Start with a small test fill of compatible coating. Adjust for gentle fluidisation before dipping preheated castings.
Compressor airflow does not set coating temperature or guarantee film thickness. Use clean, dry castings and follow the chosen coating’s preheating and curing requirements. Excessive airflow can increase dust and make the powder bed less even.
Safety and maintenance: Protect the compressor from water, dust and high temperatures. Do not cover it, obstruct airflow or close every manifold branch. It may become hot during use. Unplug it and allow it to cool before cleaning or changing connections. Wear eye and hand protection when coating and follow the coating instructions.
