Lead Coating Powder - Camo Brown
Code: SAF015-0100Related products
Product detailed description
Camo Brown is a natural shade for subtle finishing on heavy carp leads and casting sinkers, especially on clay, sandy, or silty bottoms. This rubberized coating forms a tough, abrasion-resistant lead coating that helps protect the weight surface during repeated casting and contact with gravel or stones.
Compared to standard powder paints, this coating can feel heavier and more demanding in application, especially when you’re running a fluid bed. For consistent airflow and a stable finish, we recommend the Hailea ACO 208 compressor—ideal for powering a fluid bed setup when working with thicker coating materials.
Shades can be mixed to create custom tones—Camo Brown works great as a base for natural blends or for warming up darker mixes.
recommended application (proven in practice):
-
preparation: clean and degrease the lead
-
heating: heat to approx. 160–200 °C (convection oven usually 10–15 min; torch only a few seconds—do not let the lead start to melt)
-
applying: use a fluid bed for batches, or do a quick dip into the powder (shake the container first)
-
tapping: gently tap off excess for an even layer
-
curing: approx. 180 °C for 10–20 min for maximum durability
-
cooling: let it cool in air or hang it
tip: for a natural camo effect, lightly sprinkle a second shade onto the warm base layer (or pre-mix shades) and cure.
