Product detailed description

The Pink shade is a great choice when you want a bright, high-visibility finish and a tough protective layer at the same time. It’s most commonly used on jig heads, pilkers, cheburashka weights, screw-in heads, and sinkers — basically the pieces that take the most abuse near the bottom.

The biggest advantage of rubberized coating is mechanical durability. The finish holds well, resists abrasion from rocks and structure, and in saltwater it also helps with oxidation. A coated lead weight stays protected and keeps a cleaner look for longer.

Rubberized coating is denser and heavier than standard powder paint, so when you use a fluid bed, stable airflow really matters — that’s why the Hailea ACO 208 compressor is a smart match, with enough power in reserve for consistent results.

You can mix shades as well — Pink works as a strong base and can lift more muted blends. For extra “wow”, it can be combined with high-temperature SaBoFlex glitters.

recommended coating procedure (field-tested):

  1. prep: clean and degrease the lead (clean surface = better adhesion)

  2. heat: heat lead to about 160–200 °C (oven typically 10–15 min, torch only a few seconds — do not melt the lead)

  3. apply coating:

    • fluid bed: best for batches; rubberized coating needs stable airflow (Hailea ACO 208 recommended)

    • quick dip: dip hot lead briefly and pull out immediately; shake the powder container beforehand

  4. tap off excess: gently remove extra powder for an even layer

  5. cure: for maximum durability, cure at about 180 °C for 10–20 min

  6. cool down: let it cool in the air or hang it up

tip for a strong finish: don’t skip curing on sea sinkers and pilkers — that’s where abrasion and saltwater resistance really shows.
