Sparkle Red is a great choice when you want to “wrap” your lead in a bold sparkle finish while keeping a highly durable surface. It’s commonly used on jig heads, pilkers, cheburashka weights, screw-in heads, and terminal sinkers for sea fishing (paternosters, ling/cod sinkers and similar classics).

The main advantage of this rubber coating is mechanical resistance – the finish holds up better and doesn’t chip or wear down as easily on rocks, bottom structure, or fish teeth. In saltwater it matters even more: saltwater oxidation can quickly ruin raw lead (white film, sticky surface, poor look and feel). With a rubber coating, your lead stays protected and usable for much longer.

In practice, rubber coating performs best on “solid” lead pieces (jig heads, pilkers, terminal sinkers). Compared to standard powder paint it’s denser, so when using a fluid bed you want stable airflow – that’s why a Hailea ACO 208 compressor makes sense for consistent results.

You can mix shades if you want – Sparkle Red works as a high-visibility “action” color, especially when light is limited or you’re fishing deeper. For an even stronger “wow effect”, it can be combined with SaBoFlex high-temp glitters.

doporučený postup barvení (osvědčené):

1. příprava: olovo očisti a odmasti (čistý povrch = nátěr drží)

2. nahřátí: nahřej olovo na cca 160–200 °C (horkovzdušná trouba obvykle 10–15 min, hořák jen pár sekund — olovo nesmí začít tát)

3. nanesení barvy:

   • lakovací válec: ideální pro série; u gumové barvy je klíčový stabilní výkon (proto Hailea ACO 208)

   • rychlé ponoření do prášku: horké olovo krátce ponoř a hned vytáhni; nádobu s práškem předem protřepej

4. oklepání: jemně oklepej přebytek, ať je vrstva rovnoměrná

5. dotvrzení: pro maximální odolnost dej do trouby cca 180 °C na 10–20 min

6. chlazení: nech volně vychladnout na vzduchu nebo zavěs

tip for stronger finish: don’t skip curing on sea sinkers and pilkers – that’s where abrasion and saltwater show the difference the most.
