WFT Profi Deep Sea Leader 0.60 mm / 25 kg, 50 m is designed for a lure leader and lighter tied sea rigs. WFT supplies this leader monofilament with a winding method intended to reduce twist during dispensing. Beyond medium sea lure fishing, it suits lighter homemade feather rigs or smaller cod-bait systems. For tied connections, use a knot that seats neatly in the actual eye and test the completed trace under tension.

Detailed information

Product detailed description

WFT Profi Deep Sea Leader 0.60 mm is a finer working option in this rig-material range. Use it as a leader for medium sea lure fishing and in lighter homemade feather rigs or smaller cod-bait systems. Its role differs from 1.00 and 1.20 mm: this is still manageable tied-rig material rather than the heaviest natural-bait class.

WFT supplies this sea-leader monofilament in a 50 m pack. The manufacturer describes a winding method intended to reduce twist as the material is dispensed. Let a cut section straighten and avoid introducing further turns during assembly. Pack length provides a reserve for homemade rigs; the completed trace works according to its layout and the quality of its connections.

SAF recommendation: A lure leader and lighter tied sea rigs. Prepare separate setups if you alternate lure fishing and a lighter multi-hook rig. A direct leader lets one lure move, whereas a rig body carries several branches and is loaded differently. Allow the material to straighten before tying, align the turns and check upper and lower connections separately. Compare 0.80 mm for larger tube-eel systems.

Neighbouring diameters and rig choice. The next size, 0.80 mm, is the natural comparison in SAF’s range for more substantial cod rigs. Moving to 1.00 or 1.20 mm changes the intended application as well as the label figure.

Distinguish a terminal leader for a single lure from the body of a multi-hook system. The first allows lure movement; the second carries several branches and keeps baits sensibly separated. They are different jobs, and one diameter need not be ideal for both. Test a homemade rig with the actual hooks, baits and lower sinker rather than judging a bare piece of line on the workbench.

For a tied connection, choose a knot suited to the actual monofilament and eye. Moisten it, align the turns and tighten steadily. If the line whitens, turns cross or the knot bears against a sharp edge, cut it off and retie. A crimped loop is an additional option only with a suitable sleeve and tool; their size cannot be copied from another diameter on similar breaking strain alone. Test each new connection under controlled tension.

Do not convert the 25 kg label figure into a fish weight you can lift by the trace. Connections, hardware and wear affect the completed rig. Inspect the terminal section and areas beside eyes after bottom or fish contact. Cut away damaged line, rinse used sea rigs in fresh water and let them dry. Keep spare material away from heat and direct sunlight. Abrasion resistance is not guaranteed bite protection; choose an appropriate terminal material when sharp teeth require it.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

When should I choose WFT Profi Deep Sea Leader 0.60 mm?

A lure leader and lighter tied sea rigs.

Can it be the body of a cod tube-eel rig?

It can form part of a suitably designed homemade rig. Assess body and branches separately, and check hook reach with the actual baits fitted.

Should I tie or crimp this diameter?

A tied connection is a practical option when the selected knot seats neatly in the actual eye. Moisten, align and test it. Crimping requires its own matched sleeve and procedure.

What should I check at the lure before fishing?

Check lure movement in the water, snap size, eye smoothness and the leader beside the lower connection. On a rig, also check branch length and spacing.

Does 25 kg describe the strength of the complete rig?

No. It is a declared material figure; connections, components and wear affect the finished rig. It is not a fish weight that can be lifted by the line.

When should I rebuild the trace?

After cuts, rough spots, flattening or damage beside an eye or connection. Remove the damaged section and test the replacement end fitting.
