SaBoFlex Fluo Transparent Yellow/Green is a concentrated fluorescent pigment paste for giving plastisol a translucent yellow-green colour when making soft plastic lures. It lets you build a shade between yellow and green, ranging from a light, bright tint to a stronger high-visibility colour. This is a colour concentrate designed to be mixed into plastisol – it is not ready-to-use plastisol, airbrush paint or a surface coating.

The name Fluo Transparent Yellow/Green describes a translucent fluorescent yellow-green shade, not one precisely standardised ratio of yellow to green. At a low dose and in a thin section it may look lighter and more yellow, while greater concentration, increased thickness or different lighting can make it appear greener. The decisive reference is therefore a cooled test casting made with your own plastisol, not the concentrate in the bottle or an image on a screen.

Do not confuse this product with SaBoFlex Fluo Yellow, Fluo Green or Fluo Chartreusse. Each is a separately named shade, while Yellow/Green is specifically part of the transparent fluorescent range. The name does not confirm phosphorescent afterglow in the dark, independently guaranteed UV reactivity, a metallic effect, nano glitter or non-migrating properties. The term chartreuse may be used only as an approximate colour comparison, not as an identical product name.

For workshop use, SAF recommends adding this paste in small increments to plastisol that is already hot and clear. The balance between yellow and green, as well as translucency, is difficult to judge in a cold, milky base. Once mixed into clear plastisol at working temperature, you can see the colour change as it happens and build the shade gradually. Prepare the plastisol in accordance with its manufacturer's instructions and do not overheat it.

We do not specify a fixed number of drops per 100 g. Drop size, the characteristics of the base plastisol, lure thickness and lighting can all alter the result significantly. Begin with the smallest practical amount and mix the batch completely after every addition. For repeatable production, record the weight of plastisol, the amount of colour, the geometry of the test sample and any other additives used.

Fluo Transparent Yellow/Green can be used for a fully translucent body, light belly, flank stripe, tail, head or prominent high-visibility point. It creates strong contrast against a black, smoke, brown or olive layer; a gentler transition can be developed with transparent yellow, green or orange. A suitable heat-resistant silver, gold, green or holographic glitter can add flash, but always establish the base shade on its own first.

The 50 g size is practical for an initial trial, small batches and workshops using several high-visibility shades. The 250 g pack is better suited to regular production or repeated use of the same recipe, offers a lower price per gram and is easier to homogenise by shaking because of the greater mass of paste in the bottle. Pack size does not change the concentration or working method.

Storage and packaging appearance

Colour paste and base plastisol are not the same material from a storage perspective. In SAF workshop experience, Fluo Transparent Yellow/Green remains workable in cooler conditions better than plastisol itself, but the manufacturer does not publish an exact minimum storage temperature. Do not therefore regard the colour as frost-proof. Store it upright, tightly closed and dry at a stable room temperature, away from direct sunlight, heat sources and frost. If the sealed bottle has become cold, allow it to return naturally to room temperature before opening, then shake it thoroughly. Do not warm it on a radiator, hob or in a microwave.

Packaging note: a light oily film may sometimes appear around the thread of a bottle of concentrated pigment paste, or a mark may appear on the label, particularly after transport and even when the bottle is closed. Provided there is no visible loss of contents, this surface residue does not affect the colour's use; we apologise if the label has been marked. After dosing, wipe the nozzle and thread, retighten the cap and store the bottle upright, ideally in a washable tray or sealed bag.

Frequently asked questions about SaBoFlex Fluo Transparent Yellow/Green

Is Yellow/Green the same as Fluo Yellow, Fluo Green or Chartreusse?

No. It is a separate translucent fluorescent shade between yellow and green. Fluo Yellow, Fluo Green and Fluo Chartreusse are different products; their colour and optical properties cannot automatically be applied to Yellow/Green.

Should I add Yellow/Green to cold or hot plastisol?

SAF recommends adding it in small increments to plastisol that is already hot and in its clear working state. Mix slowly after every addition. The true balance between yellow and green, as well as the degree of translucency, is harder to assess in a cold, cloudy base.

How much colour should I use per 100 g of plastisol?
