Your Mold F113 lead mold produces leads with a cast-in swivel in a smooth pear profile. The 4 cavities have nominal casting weights of 80 / 90 / 100 / 120 g. You can use the required cavity without filling all the others. This lets you make a supply matched to your tackle and the fishing location.
The classic smooth pear shape of F113 covers 80–120 g. It differs from the hexagonal F104: its rounded body can roll more readily on a hard slope. Compare F114 for lighter smooth pear leads.
A rounded or elongated body changes how the lead contacts the bottom. Actual holding depends on the slope and hardness of the bottom, current and line tension. Use the lightest load that gives the required control and keep within the casting limits of your rod and complete tackle. A mold shape alone does not guarantee a casting distance or a fixed fishing depth.
Use a size 6 / 8 swivel as the casting insert. The manufacturer lists size 6 as the optimum swivel and also permits size 8. One part of the swivel is cast into the lead; keep the exposed part free to move. Check seating and complete closure without force before filling the mold. Finish the cleaned casting with a rubber lead coating according to the coating manufacturer’s instructions.

From the F113 mold to a finished lead
- Prepare a clean, completely dry mold, inserts and tools. Choose the required cavity.
- Seat the specified size 6 / 8 swivel and check complete, secure closure without force.
- Cast according to the instructions for the mold, metal and melting equipment. Keep all plastic parts away from molten metal.
- After solidification and safe cooling, remove the lead and trim the sprue.
- Check that the attachment is firmly anchored and its exposed part remains functional.
- Weigh and inspect the first casting, then test the complete rig before continuing with a larger batch.
Nominal grammes refer to one casting, not the total output of the mold. Actual weight varies with the metal and finishing. Use a suitable rig connection and check how the complete system behaves if the main line breaks. Coating and other finishing accessories are sold separately.
Casting safety
- Never pour molten metal into a damp mold. Inserts and tools must also be completely dry.
- Wear safety glasses and suitable protective gloves; use a stable, heat-resistant workplace with effective ventilation.
- Follow the instructions for the mold, metal and melting equipment. A mold temperature limit is not a recommended pouring temperature.
- Do not eat, drink or smoke while working with lead. Keep casting equipment separate from kitchen utensils and wash your hands afterwards.
