The Your Mold F79 aluminum mold produces inline olive leads. Its 4 cavities cover nominal weights of 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 g. Use individual cavities as needed; the weights describe separate castings, not one combined lead.
The four F79 cavities at 40, 60, 80 and 100 g follow the lighter F62. They use larger 3.2 mm guide pins and a subsequent PVC liner, so the passage differs from F62. Compare F122 for weights from 120 to 200 g.
A rounded or elongated body presents a different profile from a textured Grippa. Its actual flight and movement on the bottom depend on shape, weight, current and the complete rig. Choose the lead for the venue and tackle; the name alone does not guarantee casting distance, holding or a fixed fishing depth.
The mold includes 4 removable 3.2 mm steel guide pins. They form the passage during casting and are pulled out after the metal sets. Fit a separately sold 3 mm Dark brown or Dark green PVC tube into the cool, deburred lead. Check smooth tube ends and free line movement; never put a PVC tube into molten metal. Finish the cleaned casting with a rubber lead coating according to the coating manufacturer’s instructions.
Guide pins are casting tools; they are removed and are not part of the finished fishing rig. Tubes, coating and other finishing parts are sold separately.

From the F79 mold to a finished casting
- Prepare a clean, completely dry mold, inserts and tools. Select the required cavity.
- Fit the specified insert (included 3.2 mm metal guide pin) and verify full closure and secure holding without force.
- Cast according to the mold, metal and melting-equipment instructions. Keep plastic parts out of molten metal.
- After the metal has set and handling is safe, remove the casting and withdraw the guide pin.
- Let the lead cool fully, trim the sprue and deburr the passage before fitting the PVC tube.
- Weigh the first casting and test the complete rig before continuing with a larger batch.
The nominal weight refers to one casting. Metal composition and finishing affect the actual weight. Respect the load limits of the rod and tackle. A passage or cast-in swivel alone does not guarantee free-running behavior or safe release after line breakage.
Casting safety
- Never pour molten metal into a damp mold. Inserts and tools must also be completely dry.
- Wear safety glasses and suitable protective gloves. Use a stable, heat-resistant work area with effective ventilation.
- Follow the instructions for the mold, metal and melting equipment. The mold temperature limit is not a recommended pouring temperature.
- Do not eat, drink or smoke when working with lead. Keep casting equipment separate from kitchen utensils and wash your hands afterwards.
