The Your Mold F167 aluminum mold produces finned sea sinkers weighing 100, 120 and 140 g. Three individual cavities provide a choice of loads for shore fishing. The verified insert is the 3009 sea swivel, rated to 45 kg. Swivels are ordered separately. Choose the casting weight to suit the conditions and the load rating of the complete rig.

Detailed information

Product detailed description

The Your Mold F167 aluminum mold produces finned sea sinkers in nominal lead weights of 100 / 120 / 140 g, with one cavity for each weight. The elongated body is intended for surf and shore rigs. It is a sinker for a separate baited rig, rather than a pilker with a hook attached.

The 20 g increments let you adjust the load to wind, surf and current. Choose the lightest sinker that keeps your rig under control at the fishing spot. The finned profile should not be confused with a wired grip lead; casting distance and bottom hold depend on the complete setup and conditions.

The manufacturer specifically lists the 3009 sea swivel rated to 45 kg for F167. Its embedded section anchors in the lead, while the connection eye remains exposed. Check free rotation and a clear eye after casting and coating. A swivel’s stated strength is not the load rating of the complete rig.

The manufacturer also mentions a 50 mm wire shaft, but the linked accessory is offered in 55 and 100 mm lengths. We therefore do not confirm a particular SAF shaft as a direct replacement. Use the verified 3009 swivel for the configuration described here; a standard size 1 loop or a 100 mm shaft is not a documented direct insert for F167.

This listing is for the aluminum mold. Order swivels, casting metal and finishing equipment separately. The finished sinker in the photograph illustrates the casting result. Compare other shapes and loads in our pilker and sea-sinker mold range.

Weight and insert overview

Nominal lead weight Cavities Insert used during casting
100 g 1 Your Mold 3009 sea swivel (45 kg)
120 g 1 Your Mold 3009 sea swivel (45 kg)
140 g 1 Your Mold 3009 sea swivel (45 kg)

From the F167 mold to a finished casting

  1. Prepare a clean, completely dry mold, 3009 swivel and casting tools. Select the cavity you need.
  2. Seat the swivel’s embedded section in its recess. Check orientation and full closure of both mold halves without force.
  3. Secure the mold and cast according to the instructions for the mold, metal and melting equipment. Allow ladle capacity for the selected cavity and its sprue.
  4. Once the metal has solidified and can be handled safely, remove the casting, let it cool and trim the sprue.
  5. Check swivel anchorage, free rotation and the connection eye. Weigh the first casting and test the finished rig.

Each stated weight refers to one casting. Alloy composition, sprue trimming and coating affect the final weight. You may use individual cavities; a complete filling also requires metal for all sprues.

Finish the sinker with a suitable powder coating for lead and follow its preparation and curing instructions. Check the treatment is suitable for the complete casting and keep paint out of the swivel mechanism.

Casting safety

  • Never pour molten metal into a damp mold. Lead, inserts and tools must also be completely dry.
  • Wear safety glasses and suitable protective gloves; work on a stable, heat-resistant surface with effective ventilation.
  • Follow the instructions for the mold, metal and melting equipment. The manufacturer’s approximate 500 °C mold limit is not a recommended pouring temperature.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke when working with lead. Keep casting tools separate from kitchen utensils and wash your hands afterwards.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

How many sinkers does F167 produce?

Three when all cavities are filled: 100, 120 and 140 g. Each weight has its own cavity and can be cast separately.

Which swivel fits this mold?

The manufacturer specifies sea swivel 3009, sold at SAF as the 45 kg swivel. Similar-looking swivels are not automatically interchangeable.

Can I use a wire shaft?

The manufacturer allows a shaft configuration, but its 50 mm statement conflicts with the linked part sizes. We do not confirm a specific SAF shaft as a direct insert.

Is this a pilker or a sinker?

It is a sea-rig sinker, particularly for shore fishing. The baited hook belongs to a separate hooklink.

Are swivels included?

Swivels are not listed as part of this offer and are ordered separately for the number of castings required.
