Product detailed description

Guideline NT11 Lake & Anadrome is a premium 10ft single-hand fly rod range for anglers who need more reach, more line control and more lifting power than a classic 9ft trout rod can offer. It is built for lake fishing, larger trout, sea trout, smaller salmon rivers, steelhead and anadromous fishing where you often work with sinking lines, shooting heads, compact heads or longer casts in wind.

This is not a normal trout rod with a little extra length. NT11 Lake & Anadrome is designed as a powerful 10ft single-hand tool for situations where the rod must cast overhead, handle water-anchored casts, lift sinking lines, mend effectively and still keep enough reserve when a serious fish takes. The extra length improves line control from the bank, boat or belly boat and gives better contact when fishing across current seams or deeper water.

The action is best described as a comfortable medium/fast full-flex feel with Fast Recovery. The blank loads deeper than a very stiff fast-action rod, so it is easier to feel the line and generate power without perfect timing. At the same time, it recovers quickly and stays stable under load. The result is a rod that feels smooth, readable and controlled, but still has the speed and lower-blank strength needed for heavier lines and larger fish.

The blank is built around T1100 CAP Technology. Guideline combines high-strength T1100 graphite, ultra-elastic 46T low-resin material, complex axial carbon reinforcement and high-strength nano-resin construction. In real fishing, this gives the rod a very strong strength-to-weight ratio, quick recovery, crisp tracking and impressive durability. For lake and anadromous fishing, that means less fatigue, better control of compact heads and more confidence when fighting fish on longer lines.

The 10' #6 is the lighter and more technical model in the range. It makes sense for trout, sea trout, smaller salmon rivers, lighter ULS systems, smaller to medium flies and anglers who want extra reach and control without moving into a heavy single-hand setup. It is a strong option for lake fishing, coastal sea trout, river trout and light anadromous situations.

The 10' #7 is the main all-round model. It is the most logical choice if you want one high-end 10ft rod for bigger rivers, sea trout, smaller salmon, steelhead, wind, longer casts and a broad range of compact shooting heads. It gives more authority than the #6, but still feels balanced and enjoyable through a full day on the water.

The 10' #8 is the strongest version in the series. It is made for big sea trout, single-hand salmon fishing, heavier sinking lines, larger flies, stronger current and situations where you need maximum reserve in a single-hand rod. It is still light and modern in feel, but the lower blank carries serious power for casting and fighting stronger fish.

Size Length Recommended head weight Character Best use
10' #6 10' / 305 cm 14-16 g / 215-245 gr light lake / anadrome trout, sea trout, smaller salmon rivers, ULS lines
10' #7 10' / 305 cm 17-19 g / 260-290 gr main power all-rounder larger rivers, wind, sea trout, salmon, steelhead
10' #8 10' / 305 cm 19-21 g / 290-320 gr big fish single-hand big sea trout, single-hand salmon, sinking lines

The 10' #6 is the right choice when you want a light but powerful 10ft rod for trout, sea trout, lake fishing and smaller rivers. It pairs very well with lighter ULS-style line systems and compact heads around the 14-16 g window. It is the most delicate model in the range, but still has the line control and lifting power that make this series different from a normal trout rod.

The 10' #7 is the strongest all-round recommendation for most anglers. It covers larger rivers, wind, longer casts, sea trout, salmon and steelhead with excellent balance. If you want one premium 10ft single-hand rod for lake and anadromous fishing, this is the safest and most versatile model.

The 10' #8 is for heavier and more demanding fishing. Choose it for big sea trout, single-hand salmon, stronger current, larger flies, heavier sinking lines and situations where you want to put more pressure on the fish. It is powerful, but still keeps the smooth full-flex loading that makes the rod easier and more controlled to cast.

Compared with a 9ft single-hand rod, NT11 Lake & Anadrome gives more reach, better mending, easier line lifting and improved control with sinking lines or compact heads. Compared with a switch rod, it stays lighter, more compact and easier to use when you do not need a full two-hand setup. That makes it a very strong tool for anglers who move between lake, river, sea trout and lighter salmon fishing.

The component level follows the premium NT11 standard. The rods feature FLOR-grade cork with reinforced rear grips and fighting butts, lightweight titanium stripping guides, high-quality single-leg running guides with titanium coating, a custom hard-anodized reel seat, matte satin carbon grey blank, subtle blue trim wraps, four-piece construction, rod bag and protective tube. This is a high-end rod range for anglers who want serious performance, technical line control and enough power when the fishing becomes heavy.

Frequently Asked Questions – Guideline NT11 Lake & Anadrome

Who is Guideline NT11 Lake & Anadrome made for?

It is made for anglers who want a premium 10ft single-hand rod for lake fishing, sea trout, steelhead, smaller salmon rivers, big trout and anadromous fishing with compact heads, ULS systems, Bullet-style lines or sinking lines.

Which size should I choose?

Choose 10' #6 for the lighter lake, trout and sea trout setup. Choose 10' #7 as the main all-round model for larger rivers, wind, sea trout, salmon and steelhead. Choose 10' #8 for big sea trout, single-hand salmon, heavier heads and stronger current.

Is this rod suitable for lake fishing?

Yes. The 10ft length helps with line control, lifting sinking lines, mending, long leaders and fishing from the bank, boat or belly boat. The #6 and #7 models are especially logical for lake and larger trout fishing.

Does it make sense for salmon?

Yes, especially in single-hand salmon situations, smaller rivers, lower water or places where a two-hand rod is not necessary. The #7 and #8 models are the most relevant choices for salmon and stronger anadromous fish.

Which lines fit NT11 Lake & Anadrome best?

The rods are designed mainly around shooting head style fishing, but they also work well with shorter-head WF lines such as ULS and Bullet. Depending on model and fishing style, they also pair well with compact 3D and 4D heads.

How is NT11 Lake & Anadrome different from NT11 Fast Full Flex Single Hand?

NT11 Lake & Anadrome is the broader 10ft lake and anadromous range with #6, #7 and #8 models. NT11 Fast Full Flex Single Hand is a more specialised migratory / single-hand spey-focused rod with a distinct Fast Full Flex character in #7 and #8.

Why choose a 10ft single-hand rod instead of a switch rod?

A 10ft single-hand rod gives more reach and line control than a 9ft rod, but stays lighter and more compact than a switch rod. It is ideal when you need better mending, line lifting and control, but do not want a full two-hand setup.
