Your Mold F152 is an aluminium mould with five Fireball jig-head cavities. It produces lead castings of 10, 14, 18, 22 and 26 g. You can adjust the weight of a vertical rig while keeping the same VMC 7154 BN 1/0 hook. A heavier cavity in this mould does not mean switching to a larger hook.
A Fireball rig uses a short-shank hook that stays close to the head. VMC 7154 BN combines a 90° eye, 2X Strong construction and a Short Shank. Choose bait that leaves the point exposed and enough clearance inside the bend. The hook geometry must match the mould groove; the same size number or a 90° eye on another model is not proof of compatibility.
F152 fitting: VMC 7154 BN 1/0 only
Use VMC 7154 BN 1/0 in this mould. The supplier explicitly states that size 2/0 does not fit. This restriction applies to F152 as a whole, not just its lightest cavity.
- 10 and 14 g heads: the supplier's mini loop.
- 18, 22 and 26 g heads: the supplier's small loop.
Dry-fit the hook and the correct loop before casting. Both halves must close fully without forcing them together or putting pressure on the hook.
Select head weight according to depth, current and the presentation you need. A lighter head puts less weight on the rig; a heavier one helps maintain contact in deeper water or current. Keep to the F152 cavity range and size 1/0 hook. For 25–40 g heads or a size 2/0 hook, compare F231, which is a different mould with its own fitting specification.
Mould preparation and head finishing
The mould, hook and inserted loop must be clean and dry before casting. Never pour into a damp mould. The stated weights are for lead; another casting material may give different weights.
Finish the casting with suitable powder paint or a rubber coating, following the coating manufacturer's instructions. Keep the eyes clear and the hook point clean. A coating cannot compensate for a hook that does not fit or a mould that will not close.
Five cavities provide a choice of weights with the same hook geometry. Prepare VMC 7154 BN 1/0 hooks and loops matched to the individual cavities. F231, listed among the similar products, extends the range towards heavier Fireball heads; there is no need to modify F152 to accommodate a larger hook.

Which weights can I cast with F152?

Does VMC 7154 BN 2/0 fit F152?
No. The supplier specifies VMC 7154 1/0 and explicitly excludes size 2/0. F231 is the verified mould for size 2/0.
Which loops are used for each weight?
The supplier specifies mini loops for 10 and 14 g and small loops for 18, 22 and 26 g. Check the loop in the selected cavity and make sure the mould closes fully before casting.
Can I use a different jig hook in the same size?
Size 1/0 or a matching eye angle alone does not establish compatibility. Another model may have a different wire diameter, shank or bend. Use the specified VMC 7154 1/0.
How can I finish the Fireball heads?
Use suitable powder paint or a rubber coating for lead castings, depending on the finish required. Follow the coating manufacturer's process and temperature requirements, keeping the hook eye and point clear.
