The Your Mold F221 lead casting mold combines round jig heads weighing 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 g with large VMC 7161 hooks in sizes 7/0 and 8/0. Its purpose goes beyond adding weight: it lets you rig a larger soft plastic on a large hook even when conditions do not call for a heavy saltwater head. Five separate cavities let you prepare a selection of weights for pike, larger zander and saltwater predators.

A 20 or 25 g head can let you work a larger soft plastic more slowly and give it a longer fall, provided the current and depth allow it. The 30, 35 and 40 g options let you add weight as current, drift or lure resistance increases. No weight corresponds to one fixed fishing depth: lure size and shape, line diameter and retrieve all matter. When targeting fish in the water column, reaching the bottom is not always the aim.

VMC 7161 Round Jig 60° is a forged high-carbon steel hook with a Needle Sharp point and a 60° bend towards the eye. Its open bend provides room for the lure body, but check the size by holding the hook alongside your chosen soft plastic. The point must remain clear and the shank must not restrict the tail.
