Your Mold F195 aluminium mold for three screw-in fish heads weighing 30, 40 and 50 g. A shaped weight for spring-held soft baits and separate hook rigging. The listed fish-head version uses size 1 stainless loops and an S1 spring, seated before pouring.

Detailed information

Product detailed description

The Your Mold F195 lead casting mold in this fish-head version produces 30, 40 and 50 g screw-in heads. Three cavities extend above lighter F194 while retaining a fish-head profile in front of the soft bait. Choose it when you need more load for presentation control but want to keep spring attachment for the lure and select the hook rig separately.

Choose the fish-head shape and the weight as separate decisions. Head shape changes the transition into the soft bait; adding weight changes the load of the complete rig. When comparing it with a round head, start with the same lure and a similar actual weight. A fish-head silhouette alone does not guarantee lower resistance or better clearance through obstructions in every situation. Straight rigging, hook placement and a controlled path remain important.

The listed F195 uses Your Mold size 1 stainless loops and an S1 spring. Seat both component types before pouring; they remain in the casting. The loops provide attachment points for the finished rig, while the spring holds the lure front. Check exact seating in the recesses before closing the mold rather than relying on another loop’s appearance or wire diameter.

The 30–50 g range allows load comparisons in 10 g steps. Current, drift, depth, lure bulk and line diameter affect the weight you need. Thirty grams may provide control with one lure but be insufficient with a bulkier bait. Near the bottom, monitor contact and pause length; in the water column, check your ability to hold the chosen layer. Do not assign a fixed number of metres to each weight.

The same weight does not mean the same rig. F179 casts 30/40/50 g Cheburashkas but uses BL2 and a removable C clip, not the spring system of F195. Round F187 offers 40–60 g screw-in heads with size 05 loops and S1; F204 offers heavier 80–100 g with size 1 and S1. Light fish-head F194 at 10–20 g uses the smaller 01/S2 combination. Prepare components for the actual model whenever changing molds.

Screw the lure straight onto the spring and check that the front is held without unnecessary damage. Attach the hook rig or a suitable stinger to the intended loop, matching length and placement to the lure body without restricting the active tail. Rig strength cannot be read from a 30, 40 or 50 g marking. Consider loops, connecting hardware, leader and hooks as a complete assembly, and test the first finished head before making a larger batch.

40 gYour Mold size 1Your Mold S1
50 gYour Mold size 1Your Mold S1

All three fish-head F195 cavities use size 1 loops and S1. Neither loops nor springs are removed after solidification. They are permanent head components; Cheburashka strips and clips belong to a different casting and rigging system.

From F195 mold to a screw-in head

  1. Prepare a clean, completely dry F195 mold, size 1 loops and an S1 spring. Choose the cavity and inspect every component.
  2. Seat the loops and spring accurately in the mold recesses. Both halves must close fully without force. Follow the instructions when sealing unused openings with suitable material and secure the mold.
  3. Cast according to the mold, metal and melting equipment instructions. Use the working temperature and filling method specified for your process, keeping the components correctly seated.
  4. After solidification and safe cooling, remove the head and trim the sprue. The loops and spring remain in the casting; check their anchoring, alignment and clear loop openings.
  5. Weigh the first head, apply any surface finish and let it cool. Screw the soft bait straight onto the spring, attach the hook rig to the intended loop and check the complete assembly before making a larger batch.

Lead casting equipment and practical guidance

The stated weights are nominal lead casting weights. Metal composition, cavity filling and sprue trimming affect the result, so weigh the first pieces. Other low-melting metals may produce a different weight. Follow the coating instructions and keep loop openings and the spring’s working section clear. Prepare the correct loops, springs, suitable hooks and melting equipment for production. The table identifies the required components; wire diameter alone does not replace the shape of the specified part.

Casting safety

  • Never pour molten metal into a damp mold; the loops, springs and tools must also be completely dry.
  • Wear safety glasses and suitable gloves and use a stable, heat-resistant work area.
  • Provide effective ventilation and follow the instructions for the metal, auxiliary products and melting equipment you use.
  • Keep food, drinks and smoking away from the work area; keep lead-working equipment separate from household utensils and wash your hands afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Which F195 does this listing describe?

The screw-in fish-head version with three cavities at 30, 40 and 50 g, matching the SAF listing and photograph. Its specified components are size 1 loops and S1.

Is F195 the same as F179 at the same weights?

No. F195 holds the lure with a cast-in spring and uses separate hook rigging. F179 is a round Cheburashka with an articulated hook on a removable C clip.

Does it use the same loops as lighter fish-head F194?

No. F194 uses 01/S2, whereas F195 uses size 1 and S1. Check consumable components as well as weights when expanding the range.

When should I choose round F187?

When you want a round screw-in profile and a 40–60 g range. Compare shared weights using the same lure and similar hook placement; F187 uses size 05 loops.

Where should I attach a stinger or hook leader?

To the intended loop on the completed head. The screw-in spring holds the lure. Size the hook rig for the bait and check the connection and unobstructed action.
