Product detailed description
The Your Mold F233 “sieben Zwerge” is a small aluminum mold for making round micro jig heads. It focuses on the light end of lure fishing: tiny soft baits, small hooks and light loads for slow retrieves and controlled falls. It suits anglers who want to prepare the same small bait with several different head weights.
When fishing small soft baits for perch or trout, fall control and contact with the lure matter. A lighter head suits slower presentations in shallower or calmer water; more weight can help as current, depth or wind increase. Choose the load for the actual location and line diameter. Individual weights cannot be assigned a universal fishing depth.
F233 has seven cavities covering four approximate weights: one 1 g cavity and two each for 2, 3 and 4 g. The two mold halves work together to produce seven complete heads, rather than fourteen. Repeated cavities help you build a supply of commonly used weights; you can also fill only the selected cavities.
The manufacturer specifically confirms VMC 9147 sizes 8 and 10 for every weight. Choose VMC 9147 BN #10 or VMC 9147 BN #8 from SAF. This is a freshwater Aberdeen jig hook with a 90° front bend. Compatibility applies to this series and these two sizes, rather than any hook with a 90° bend.
Hook size need not change with every gram of lead. Keep the suitable hook for a particular small soft bait and vary the weight to match the water. The bait should sit straight, with clearance around the point and a freely moving tail section. Position the hook before casting; it remains permanently embedded in the finished head.
This listing is for the mold alone; hooks, metal and finishing supplies are selected separately. The hooks and colored jig heads in the photographs illustrate fitting and possible finishes. F72 offers a wider light-head range up to 10 g, while F232 has a different Ned design with its own inserts. Compare further options in our jig-head mold range.

From the F233 mold to a micro jig head
- Prepare a clean, completely dry mold, the specified VMC 9147 size 8 or 10 hooks and casting tools. Select the required cavities.
- Seat each hook in its groove and check eye position and complete closure without force. The hook must not move as the mold closes.
- Secure the mold and cast according to the instructions for the mold, metal and melting equipment.
- After solidification, remove the casting safely and allow it to cool. Carefully trim the sprue without damaging the small hook.
- Check secure hook anchorage, a clear eye and an undamaged point. Weigh the first heads, fit the chosen soft bait and test its action in water.
The weights are approximate values for lead. Alloy, hook choice and coating affect final weight. Even small changes are proportionally significant with micro heads, so check the first castings on a suitable scale.
Finish the heads with a suitable powder coating according to its own instructions. Apply a controlled layer and keep the eye and working hook surfaces clear. Match the heat treatment to the complete assembly; do not automatically transfer one coating’s instructions to other colors or types.
Casting safety
- Never pour molten metal into a damp mold. Hooks, metal and tools must also be completely dry.
- Wear safety glasses and suitable gloves; work on a stable, heat-resistant surface with effective ventilation.
- Follow the instructions for the mold, metal and melting equipment. The manufacturer’s approximate 500 °C mold limit is not a recommended pouring temperature.
- Do not eat, drink or smoke while working with lead. Keep casting tools separate from kitchen utensils and wash your hands afterwards.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
How many heads can the mold produce?
Seven when every cavity is filled: one approximately 1 g, two 2 g, two 3 g and two 4 g heads. You do not need to fill every cavity at once.
Do sizes 8 and 10 fit every cavity?
Yes. The manufacturer confirms both VMC 9147 sizes for every F233 weight. Check correct seating and complete mold closure before casting.
How should I choose the weight for a tiny soft bait?
Consider depth, current, wind, line and the desired fall. Use enough weight to maintain control and present the bait in the intended way.
Are hooks and finished heads included?
This listing is for the mold alone. VMC 9147 hooks and casting or coating supplies are ordered separately; the photographs show examples of fitting and finishing.
Can I use the inserts from F232 Ned Jig?
F233 is specified for VMC 9147 size 8 and 10 hooks. The VMC 5150 hooks and BH19 keeper used with F232 are not confirmed inserts for this micro mold.
