SaBoFlex BubbleGum is a concentrated pigment paste for colouring plastisol when making soft-plastic fishing lures. It offers a clean, vivid bubblegum-pink shade for complete castings and eye-catching colour details. This is a colour concentrate intended to be mixed into plastisol – not ready-to-use plastisol, an airbrush paint or a surface coating.

BubbleGum is a brighter and cleaner pink than the more muted Salmon or the oil-toned Motor Oil Pink. However, the name alone does not confirm fluorescence, UV activity, any particular opacity or a non-bleed formulation. Do not confuse BubbleGum with Fluo Pink. Always judge the actual result from a cooled sample made with your own plastisol.

For this colour, SAF recommends adding it in small amounts to plastisol that is already hot and clear. Actual intensity is difficult to judge in a cold, milky-looking base. In clear working plastisol, you can see the change in shade as you go and increase the saturation in small steps. Prepare the plastisol according to its manufacturer's temperature and safety instructions and do not overheat it.

We do not specify a fixed number of drops per 100 g. Drop size varies with the dispensing nozzle, while the base plastisol, dose, lure thickness, other additives and lighting all affect the finished appearance. Start with a small amount; a mixture that is too light can be intensified, but concentrate that has already been added cannot be removed. For repeatable production, record the quantity of plastisol, the colour dose and the additives used.

BubbleGum can be used for the whole body, a pink belly or flank, a side stripe, or just the tail tip or another contrasting detail. Paired with white or a pearlescent section, it creates a clean, bright combination; with a black or purple back, it produces a strong dark–light contrast. Suitable heat-resistant silver, pink or holographic glitter adds sparkle; test any new combination in a small batch first.

The 50 g option is practical for trying the shade for the first time, making smaller batches or equipping a workshop that uses several colours. The 250 g pack makes sense for regular production or repeated use of the same recipe. The concentration and recommended method of use do not change with pack size.

Storage and packaging appearance

Store the colour upright in its original, tightly closed bottle, in a dry place at a stable room temperature and away from direct sunlight. Protect it from frost and significant temperature fluctuations. If the sealed bottle has become cold, allow it to return naturally to room temperature and only then homogenise the contents. Do not warm it on a radiator, hot plate or in a microwave oven.

Packaging notice: Especially after transport, a light oily film may appear around the thread or leave a mark on the label, even when the bottle is closed. If there is no visible loss of contents, this surface trace does not affect the use of the colour; we apologise for any marking of the label. After dosing, wipe the bottle neck and thread, retighten the cap firmly and store the bottle upright, ideally in a washable tray or sealed bag.

Frequently asked questions about SaBoFlex BubbleGum

Is BubbleGum the same as Fluo Pink?

No. BubbleGum is the name of a vivid pink shade in the Special range, whereas Fluo Pink is a separately designated fluorescent colour. Without a technical data sheet, we do not attribute fluorescence or UV activity to BubbleGum.

When should I use BubbleGum for the whole body and when only as a detail?

A single-colour casting creates a full pink appearance. A smaller layer, side stripe, belly or tail tip retains the other colours and adds only a pink contrast. Choose the proportions to suit your intended lure design.

How can I create a lighter pink?

First try a lower dose of BubbleGum. If you want to lighten or soften the shade further, work in a small trial batch with a compatible white or pearlescent additive; this may also change the mixture's optical character.

Which colours create a contrasting laminate with BubbleGum?

Black and dark purple create a strongly contrasting dark back; white or a pearlescent shade creates a lighter adjacent layer. For a more muted transition, try Salmon. Test each combination at the same thickness as it will have in the finished lure.

Which glitter works well with BubbleGum?

Silver preserves a cooler, cleaner look, pink follows the base colour and holographic adds a multicoloured sparkle. Use heat-resistant glitter and increase the dose gradually so that it does not obscure the shade.

Why might the finished casting look different from the paste in the photograph?

The photograph shows concentrated paste under particular lighting. In plastisol, the colour is affected by the dose, clarity of the base, casting thickness and other additives. A cooled test casting is therefore always the reference for your own recipe.
